cloclo1302:french let it be:1 week of holidays and when I'm back this thread is on Page 3
Just to remind you that it was only 7 weeks ago.
Have you noticed that the set list of the 1st Toronto's gig is exactly the same as the Hampden's one (with Mull of Kyntire) ?
Yes, and I thought it was something special to have MULL OF KINTYRE in the set list. Such an illusion!
It doesn't bother me....the fact I got to see Mull of Kintyre live in Scotland, and being hugely patriotic of my country, was an experience that will never leave me.
milcon1998:Only A Northern Song:8 weeks ago today and I was sat in Block AA7 soaking up the sun, waiting for the show to begin. It was our first time in Glasgow and we a brilliant weekend.
The weather was perfect, the locals hospitable and friendly and Sir Paul once again brightened up my life with three great hours of memories, while creating a few news ones
to look back on. Cheers Macca, you've earned your knighthood several times over for services to music.
Wasn't the weather awesome? It was actually bloody hot (almost too hot) during the soundcheck in the afternoon. Thank god we were allowed to bring our drinks inside.
I'm glad I still have the pics to look back at. And the gig on CD to listen to.
Should count yourself lucky......Scotland is hardly known for its scorching weather! That was our one weekend of summer

I know!!! I arrived Fri before the gig, left Mon after the gig, 4 brilliant sunny days!!! 4 days of shorts and a tee, perfect!
That's gonna be different when I go back in Dec
Thats good!....Yeah will have to wrap up for a winter concert!
milcon1998:CMackbird:Thats good!....Yeah will have to wrap up for a winter concert!
That sounds perfect! Somewhere between the 15th and the 19th Dec please
I see you're from Edinburgh, I might go over there for 1 day in Dec, what are good music stores to visit?
Yeh that would be prefect...maybe he could play Wonderful Christmastime like london last year.
Sure am...there is the usual big shops like HMV (a few through the city but the big one is on Princes St) and there are your smaller ones like Ripping Records and other Vinyl shops. Good thing is most of them are in the town centre and the good thing about Edinburgh is that pretty much everything is in walking distance.
I don't know if you have seen them or not but The Bootleg Beatles are playing Edinburgh on the 16 Dec....Ive been to the last 4 ones and they are really good.

I guess we can say 'in our dreams', doubt that it's going to happen. WANT it to happen but don't think it will
I do hope he will do more gigs in Europe later this year though.

Are there any stores that also Beatles shirts that you know of?

I'm going to see The Bootleg Beatles on the 15th in Glasgow And then Them Beatles on the 18th in Glasgow. Good reasons to go back to Scotland!!!
Yeh I think it may not happen this year but hopefully theres more European gigs to come next year!? Hopefully maybe a live cd/dvd for the hampden park will come out if theres no new gigs....seeing as it seems to be have one of his best gigs this summer.
HMV do shirts for loads of bands including the beatles, im not sure on other stores tbh, sorry.
That sounds great, think I will definately be going to the Edinburgh gig.
Only A Northern Song:As much as I'd personally love a Good Evening Hampden DVD release, i'm afraid such a title will probably remain in the domain of the bootleggers, with their pristine artwork but lousy
YouTube-ripped videos, each song more shakier than the last and pixelated to horrific proportions when viewed on a 40" LCD TV. I was almost certain that Kings Dock (Liverpool 2003)
would have been released but when that one passed, I now hold very little hopes of an official Glasgow DVD ... or BluRay for that matter
You are probably right....If there was going to be a release from the tour then it will probably be America. Even if he released a general Up & Coming Cd/Dvd and there were a few songs from each gig, the setlist has stayed the same at most gigs and to have Mull of Kintyre in Scotland on Dvd would be brilliant!
lazydynamite88:i think the important factor despite maccas brilliance for me was that everyone in my immediate surroundings stood for the whole gig.
not most of or part of the gig but the WHOLE GIG.
i was in AA7 too around the middle and the scottish crowds attitude to stand and dance made all the differance..
well done glasgow
Im pretty sure the majority of people stood for the whole gig....I was a bit further back but not by much and everyone I could see was standing aswell as dancing about. Was a special atmosphere!
Hopefully the next setlist will include:
Take it Away
Heart of the Country
Maybe Im amazed
Too Many People
When Im 64
Here comes the sun for Harrison
Hopefully he keeps Venus & Mars/Rockshow, 1985, Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da (has been a real crowd pleaser).
Only A Northern Song:milcon1998:christinemacca:I know, couldn't believe it when you told us we weren't allowed to stand, wasn't happy at all! Remember we were talking about a load of us storming the front of the stage anyway!?Haha. So glad you had a word with Shelly. Thanks to you it all turned out good in the end
That 4th row ticket did it. So I'm glad I bought the soundcheck ticket after all. If it wasn't for that, I'm not sure if we would have made it all the way to the front since I'd be sitting more to the back as well and we probably wouldn't have the chat with Shelley.
I hope we get so see him again this year!
I think Paul should consider touring Europe again. I know the big money is Stateside, but Liverpool is probably due another tour stop. Been two years now!
Definately...would love if he did a few more British stadium gigs....Anfield next year!
Only A Northern Song:Definately...would love if he did a few more British stadium gigs....Anfield next year!
Well, in a parallel universe, i'm a Manchester United fan so this Anfield thing is a bit of a non-starter but how about the Echo Arena in Liverpool? That's a neutral footballing venue!
I can understand why you might not enjoy being at Anfield. Echo is fine with me aslong as he play's in britain again! I would quite like to go to a more intimate venue aswell. Something like Edinburgh Castle...Great setting but the crowd would be smaller. Think Rod Stewart played up here a few weeks back.
