shannon:Awesome! You witnessed history in the making.
Totally! And you were in the golden circle! Like the inner sanctum! WooHoo! I heard Madonna say the Golen Circle! Cool!
femaleanimal:Paul was performing with U2 - I really don`t see why Ringo should have been there as well or where he would have fitted in. Ringo is a good guy, but he is a human and yes, he can be grumpy - ask anyone who has asked him for his autograph!
Ringo said himself that he and Paul have their own careers and do their own thing. There is certainly not bad feeling between him and Paul (although I think Ringo maybe a little jealous of Paul) - they were at the Cream concert together only recently.
As far as I can remember, Geldof extended an open invitation to both George and Ringo to appear at Live Aid, which neither of them took up.
The invitation should have come from Geldof. He was the one running the entire thing! Who really knows...maybe he *did* invite him again!?! It totally isn't Paul's fault.
DennyC:Paul and Ringo haven't been in a group together in decades, as Ringo said they each have their own careers. I doubt either of them consult each other when they perform, so why should this concert be any different. It was Geldoff's idea to have Paul sing with U2. If Ringo wanted to be included, then he knew who to contact. It really isn't anyone's fault, but if blame were to be assigned, then Ringo should have picked up a phone. Like it or not, Paul's career for the last 4 plus decades doesn't involve Ringo, except for some isolated appearances on recordings.
SO WELL SAID!!!
Just looking at the last few posts, I have no idea what's goin on but I am ROFLMAO!!! Funny. Cute.
Did you get to go to the soundcheck? I heard Paul was late & Wix was posing for photos & signing autographs! Very cool!
rlj1010:I love Wix, but on stage I'd rather he just play piano only. And keyboards for the songs that require it (like the solos on Jet, and Band On The Run.)
But for stuff like Got To Get You Into My Life, bring out a real brass band.
Or a real string quartet for Yesterday.
It makes a huge difference, and Paul can afford it.
I'm not knocking Wix. I think he's great.
But some of Wix' keyboards replicating real instruments, irritates me.
Even the Fab Faux, (at 1/4 of Paul's ticket price), use a real brass and string section.
well then complain to Paul. Wix is just an employee! I agree...Paul CAN afford it. He can also bring his own bagpippers around the world so that we all can hear Mull.

I'm here in philly now, going to tonight's show. I'd love to meet Wix, but I'm most likely meeting Brian at the Camp McCartney thingy in about 2 hrs
Have a great time!
