~lady*madonna~:So, what does this have to do with Paul?
Gave me a near heart attack thinking HE was coming to SoCal!

Got my heart racing too!

One thing sorta Paul related is that his son James is playing a couple of nights next week at the Hotel Cafe in L.A., April 16 and 17, so there's that.

FrankieJ:Marshall Arts have told me:

"Hello, Thanks for your message. At this stage there are no plans for any UK Paul McCartney shows."

This is heartbreaking.

Frankie- he'll be there. Give it time. I sat around last year waiting until SEPTEMBER for the slightest hint of any US shows, then we only got TWO and I went through a HUGE hassle to get halfway across the country to get there. How big is the UK in comparison to the US? I think more dates here, makes more sense.

Exactly right. Something tells me Paul is going to do more shows in the UK and Europe in the fall.

RMartinez:Paul should do something like this:

http://www.pollstar.com/news_article.aspx?ID=805001

If the Stones can, Paul can. $20 for a surprise show at a club.

I actually was incredibly lucky enough to get a ticket to go to this last night!

Actually, I have quite the story about how I got my ticket. It's kind of long, but it's worth a read through:

Let's go back in time to about 11 am yesterday. I'm driving in my car, off to run some errands, when I turn on the radio and I hear that the Stones are doing a secret show in L.A. Once I heard this, I drove like a madman to get in line at the El Rey.

I get there about 12:30, line snaking around the block, thinking immediately that my odds don't look good, but, I hung around after I found out that they were giving out tickets via a lottery.

Around 2 pm, a person comes around handing out tickets with numbers. I get number 312072. As I walk up the sidewalk, another guy with a megaphone states that people who have tickets with numbers in between 312094 and 312400-something are getting into the show.

A guy who I had been talking with had a ticket with 312100. HE GIVES ME HIS TICKET, and tells me to enjoy the show!!!!!

I thank him profusely, and then I got my actual ticket and wristband to get me in the show!!!!!

rusty

he's always short & sweet ... what did he say in the interfiew????????????????????????????????????????????????

Rusty basically talked about his band, and the fact the new single is coming out, and talked about some potential changes to the setlist during Paul's tour. Curiously, as one of the songs he picked to be played on the show this morning, he chose "Another Girl."

Perhaps a clue of things to come, hmm?

DrivinFan:Rusty Anderson speaking with Chris Carter (Breakfast with the Beatles in L.A.) this morning says we will not be disappointed with the new setlist!!

He indicated there will be a few new things this time around...

That's good enough for me!

damnit I missed the show...

Also, when Chris asked him to pick a song to play this morning, Rusty chose "Another Girl."

Perhaps a sign of things to come, I hope?

That is SO cool! So how were the Stones?? I enjoy their music and concerts. I think Paul should do some secret club dates or play some last minute shows in smaller markets (hint hint!) where his big stage would not make sense.

The Stones were great! It was actually my first time seeing them in concert, and I loved every minute of it! I'm actually seeing them again later in May at the Staples Center, but I don't that gig will even compare to seeing them at the Echoplex!

moptops:Just my gut feeling, but I truly believe these are very strong possibilities.

I remember how I felt when he opened the Up and Coming tour in Phoenix(?)

...and reading the song titles as they were being tweeted...just insane...

V&M, Letting Go, 1985, I'm Looking Through You...etc

My God - I hope I have the same feeling after the first night in Brazil.

I hope so too! I remember reading the song titles for that Phoenix show back in 2010 (has it been that long already?) and being completely gobsmacked! It made me all the more excited to see him when I eventually saw Paul at the Hollywood Bowl that year.
