Many years ago, in 1969 I was a newly appoint detective at St John’s Wood Police Station in London. I entered the office one day and the Sergeant pointed at me and said, “You are the youngest and newest detective here. Paul McCartney has just moved into the area and you are now responsible for him. You deal with him and also any complaints from neighbours about noise from the house or problems with the girls.”
This I did for about 18 months until I moved with my family to Adelaide Australia. I was fairly busy with both the girls and the neighbours.
During the time that I was actually with Sir Paul, having a drink with him and his gardener, George. I never asked for an autograph or photo. I was simply being professional. People tend not to believe me that I had this association and unfortunately I am now 88 years of age and having, recently had a series of accidents did not know he was appearing here.
I wish that I had asked him to get the rest of the group to sign a dozen White Albums and I could have retired many years ago.
I would really appreciate it if you could ask Sir Paul to sign a photo made out to “Frank” and anything else he wants to save and send it to me. I have, over the years written many times to his St John Woods address and also his managers, without success. This will be my last hope.
My address is 22, Seaview Avenue, Hallett Cove, South Australia 5158. Phone 08-8387-9642 or mobile 0415-101-900, if I remember to take it out with me.
Many thanks in anticipation.

(Do you want the name of his girlfriend at the time to show I was there ) -
@silverfox In 1969, he was with Linda Eastman who he married Mar. 12, 1969. Is that who you were going to name?
Unfortunately, writing your request on here will probably get you nowhere. You would have to know someone in Paul’s inner circle in order to get a signed photo.
I’m 20 years younger than you and have given up all hope of ever meeting him, chatting for a minute and getting a hug. You were very lucky to have the contact you had with him! I’ve been outside of his London home 6 times since 1980 and in 2011 saw his cat run under the gate (“Paul’s cat!” I yelled and everyone laughed!) and in 2022 a light was on up on the 2nd floor, so maybe he was there.
I’ve seen him in concert 8 times since 1976 (3 times from 3rd or 4th row center) but that’s as close as I’ve gotten.
