RE: DISNEY TEASES ANOTHER BEATLES PROJECT
@jimmix It's a bit confusing however. Specifically, the version of "Let It Be" we see and hear is the one Phil Spector put together....the louder, rockier lead guitar he inserted once he got the tapes in early 1970. That is not the version that would...or was..in the film when it was originally released. It didn't exist yet when the film was being shot and was in the can in 1969. There are three versions of the song I have heard: George Martin's produced single (the best version of the song), the Spector version with the louder lead guitar part...and another one....which I believe is the version we first heard in the the film when it was initially released. Why use the Spector version now in the film?? When it didn't even exist in that form at the time. In the film clip, John is holding a guitar but doesn't really appear to be playing it....he just sorta' plucks a string every now and then. Was he totally out of it????

RE: Stella McCartney turns heads in a dazzling silver minidress as she totters to her car following Met Gala afterparty
@jimmix ....totters to her car seems to be a key phrase here.

RE: Beatles mentioned in the comics
Love that Stephen Pastis incorporates The Beatles in so many of his Pearls Before Swine comic strips, most are very, very clever. This one, while funny, is one of his weaker and way too obvious tributes. But....love that he does the band quite frequently.

RE: EXCLUSIVE Paul McCartney's psychedelic Wings 1972 double-decker tour bus goes up for auction - here's how much it could sell for
@njr Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Wings were various musicians that backed up Paul McCartney. They came and went, nobody really cared or paid attention. That's how they were seen by most everyone in the country who was a music fan. Paul and his backups sold great numbers of records in the 70's, but when people are asked about big bands of that decade, they primarily say...The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and a few others. Nobody ever really says Wings. While I'm exaggerating a bit, by and large that's just how it was and still is.

Beatles' bus??? The sky's the limit on what it would sell for!!!! Wings? Uh, not much!

RE: The Beatles Mentioned on TV
On the one hand, I'm happy the guy was familiar with the song. But, on the other hand, to think Ringo was the band member who wrote it demonstrated his lack of knowledge of the....shall we say....capabilities of each band member.

RE: James McCartney
@jimmix Well.....that's partially true. It is Beatlesque in sound and James vocal sound a bit like his famous dad. They look nothing like their famous fathers, however,...well, maybe there's some resemblance, but they don't remotely resemble John and Paul in their prime as Beatles. That said, I do like the song!!! It, however, stops at about 3:07 but the time continues for another six seconds....to 3:13. Why not have them coincide so we don't have dead space or time when nothing is happening? Maybe the nice guitar part could have lasted another six seconds???

RE: DISNEY TEASES ANOTHER BEATLES PROJECT
@jimmix That part is great....seeing those songs performed in the studio. I thought they would be included in that manner in Get Back, but since they weren't part of the rooftop performance, they were left to be shown a bit as the credits rolled at the end. It was a disservice to the band. ALL the songs written that month and performed as the band came up with new material should have been included. Yes, they were all Paul, but that's not his fault. He was ready with new material for the album. John? Not so much.

RE: A New Beatles Book Hits the Charts, Ahead of ‘Let It Be’ Film Re-Release
This perfectly illustrates why four films, one for each Beatle, is not a good idea. It all adds up to overload.....a massive one. Who will be interested? Everything that could be said and shown and told already has been multiple times.
