TCB.. Once a couple of years ago, I saw Jerry Lee Lewis in a small country bar about 10 miles from where I live (next to a city airport) Needless to say JLL rocked, but for me the cool part was getting James Burton's autograph, as James was then playing guitar for Jerry Lee. Almost had a heart attack when he came out. For those who don't know..James Burton was Elvis' guitarist for the majority of his live shows throughout the 70s. Played the pink Stratocaster. He was very nice and we chatted for a few minutes after the show...

Yeah, it was a weird night. The show cost $15.00 and I had to join this country dance bar as a member. I was totally bummed because I didn't bring alot of cash and the damn place didn't take credit cards and there was no re-entry so I wasn't able to put on my "Jerry Lee Lewis is in town, I need to have quite a few margaritas buzz"....Well anyway, Jerry Lee comes out with bourbon and cigar and sits down and opens with Roll Over Beethoven and marches right into Chantilly Lace....it went on like that for about 45 mintues. James Burton was introduced and a large group of us made quite a noise and started screaming E! E! E! and "Takin' Care of Business".....it was so cool, he was laughing and having a good time..... ON a bunch of songs Jerry Lee would look at him and nod at the end of the guitar solo to play another 32 bars (double his solo) so it was a great night... He signed a napkin for me (don't know why I didn't bring anything else)... I walked out with him and asked him a bunch of Elvis questions (he laughed at most of them and gave a few answers)...I then met Jerry Lee and told him "You're still the Killer" and he said (sounding just like Elvis_ "Thank ya - man" and he got in the limo, drove the 2 blocks to the airport and got in a private jet (of course we all followed) Yep, it was one I'll always remember...

It was said that one of the contributing factors to Elvis's death was his stomach disorders. Apparently, during the autopsy, it was determined that Elvis' colon was so distorted that he had nearly 20 pounds of impacted fecal matter. I mean - that's definitenly one of the reasons that contributed to his death. He was blocked - he had to be in absolute agony. He died on the toilet sadly. I think that was a factor along with the peanut-butter and banana sandwhiches, the pills, and the breakfast's that features nothing but greasy bacon and fried eggs. I miss Elvis and once sampled the peanut-butter n banana sandwhiches and they were phenomenal. Elvis has left the building. It's been said that when Elvis entered the pearly gates he was directed right to the rest room - "Thank you ver much"

One of the most famous movies Elvis made was in 1969. He played a ghetto DR and Mary Tyler Moore played a nun. It was called Change of Habit. I dug when Elvis knew karate - I only remember seeing Elvis on TV in 1977 shortly after his death - The last concert filmed. He was big but he still had his incredible voice and he liked to move his finger then shake his hips. He puts on his glasses and he reads the lyrics to my way. It was cool. True or not true. Many african-americans believe that Elvis once said "The only thing that a nig&* is good for...is shining my shoes" . I don't Elvis said it - but, that distorted quote was believed by quite a few folks. I talked about Elvis once day at work and several folks who i worked with who were african-american believed it. Many people have misconceptions about Elvis

Elvis best songs included I got a thing about you baby american trilogy That chuck berry song with the funky keyboard - (Can't remember title) - There was a movie that re-enacted Elvis - "Elvis that's the way it is" and it shows him around '75 doing american trilogy and his voice cracks in the middle of it - but, it's just great. When Elvis died - I remember it was big but not as sad or tragic as Lennon.
