Hi Gang. I've just realised that I've got 11 pages to catch up on...OMG. So for now here is a review of `Let it Be..Naked' that was sent to me by Pete Dicks...an English Deejay. I'll get back either tonight or tomorrow. Love, cheers and hugs everyone. Sam. (See below). The tracks Get Back... a MUCH clearer sounding version with some previously unnoticed ad libs by Paul. The lead guitar seems to have been mixed further forward, and the song ends WITHOUT the pause and Paul singing 'OOOOOoooooh!' There is a short gap and then... Dig A Pony...again MUCH clearer and I can now hear more of Billy Prestons keyboard and Johns strumming... For You Blue...I hear extra strumming from Georges' acoustic guitar and clearer ad libs...'them old 12 bar blues'...'rythm and Bluse' this takes us to... The Long and Winding Road - the one all the fuss was about! Again clearer and of course san the orchestrational overdubbs by Spector. The Bass played by John sounds good, unlike some other versions (Anthology), the organ playing by Preston leads me to believe that this in indeed the version from the Let It Be film, albeit cleaned up and digitised. Two of Us...Johns harmony seems mixed further forward and Ringos drums are sometimes more pronounced. Again, the acoustic guitars played by John and Paul are SO much clearer! The whistling sounds like the original LP version was used. WOW! I've Got a Feeling is SO MUCH different! Better vocals from John and Paul..is this a NEW version of this great song??? Georges licks are SO much clearer...and the dual vocals at the end of the song almost confirm the idea that this is a NEW version...a GREAT TRACK! One after 909 is a new version..has to be..I hear new vocals from John and harmonies from Paul - also new licks from George. Prestons keyboards are more forward, but not TOO much so....and now... Don't Let Me Down...another new version right from the start! Slightly new lyrics from John 'Pleeeeease...' and harmonies from Paul. I've always loved this song...and love this even more...again Prestons keyboard sounds wonderfull. I ME MINE...clearer guitar and vocals again from George...Pauls bass is more prounounced...this could also be a new version in parts...lead guitar is also clearer. Across The Universe...I've been waiting for this...again clearer acoustic guitar and Johns vocal...his voice is subject to effects on the first chorus, and sitar is mixed in very subtly - wonderfull....no background chorus. The orchestra seems to have been left in the background and is gently introduced towards the end and Johns voice echos out as the song ends. Let It Be ...WOW..the guys backing to Pauls lead vocal is superb!!! Then a new organ effect comes in...now the lead guitar..which will they use???? sound like the Film version, not either the 45 or LP vinyl versions previously issued. The backing vocals are mixed slightly back to give a choir effect. Georges licks are more forward. And that was it...I love this cd.... Please listen via headphones when you play your own version, and see if you can hear the subtle differencies.

Hey Sam, IT is so great to see you back. I will check out Let IT Be Naked when I go to the store. The reviews make it sound interesting. When will the Let IT Be dvd come out? That is the one I'm looking forward to.
-
Sounds like The legendary Beatles will be #1 on the charts again!
-
Hi Magical Mystery Girl welcome to the thread. Hi Sam, nice to see you back thank you for the review!
I am looking foward to hearing it, and YES the Beatles will TOP THE CHARTS, they will knock that lame britney spears off cold turkey! Keep your eye on billboard.com for the charts, it probably will take a week to find out. Paulfan, yes email me anytime, if you need my email addy send me a pm and i will pass it on! Hi Tashi glad you like the pic of me and PN! It's like going to see an old friend when i see him!
-
Hello Sam, everyone!
So glad to see you back! I enjoyed the review of LIBN, and I agree with what he had to say, it's almost like getting a "new" album, subtle but wonderful differences! I had a copy of the "Let It Be" film and some of the version's are what were on it, but it's great to have it out on CD now! I'm looking forward to getting my own copy! Yes you have eleven pages to catch up on now Sam, lol! Hope we can have you back here again soon so that you can tell us all about what you've been up to, it sounds very exciting! Love and hugs,
Merry

Hi Sam... maybe we write too much :-). Great to see you back!
And great to see the review too. It's great that we'll hear more Billy Preston, he was absolutely great. I only doubt one thing... Better vocals in I've Got A Feeling? That song is magical. The John and Paul voices join for the last time together. I hope they had put it into their hearts so they had started to make it better.... Hey, what about "You Know My Name"?
Well lets hope BEATLES #1. Rock and roll #1 again. But someday they will release the masters and everyone would do his own Let It Be, his own Sgt. Pepper's... I think So. I would do it with my music. A current music CD, and then a CD-Rom with a Cubasis-like program to mastertrack the songs.
-
People that have heard the bonus CD confirm that Imagine is on it. Do you remember the old rumour... Dunno what is exactly like, maybe the piano entrance but no doubt it's Imagine with John on the BEATLES!!!!
-
Okay Sara I will pm you.

Okay Everyone Reading back 11 pages was hard work but it was made easier by such interesting posts and diverse topics. Here's some replies to those I'd left out in my previous post. Jenprowell Hi Jen. Great to see you back again. And we always reply to your posts. Denny C Getting rid of Phil Spector was good in my opinion. Whem you have music like the Beatles why drown it with that awful `Wall of Sound ?' Swaying Daisy Nice to see you back too. Great posts !! My computer goes off now and then so I'll send this now and finish off in a few minutes. Cheers Sam.
