Ringo's comment on the Paul/Bono performance at Live8
-
Looks like Ringo is now a bit influenced by Liam and Noel Gallagher!
-
aww poor ringo I love you ringo
-
WHY CALL RINGO GRUMPY.. C'MON? we love you ringo!
-
I love RINGO!!!!! When I saw Paul and Bono singing the SGT PEPPER song...I thought how cool it would have been to have Ringo come out and sing "With a Little Help From My Friends"...it was a perfect opportunity for them to perform together...and I'm sure the crowd would have LOVED it!

Apple Scruff:
Personally, I liked the four sgt. pepper beatle guys on stage, i thought it was a nice touch to a cool song, and I kinda saw it like it sort of symbolized the beatles being there at live 8, imo. But I respect Ringo's opinion. I kinda feel bad for Ringo 'cuz I think he feels bad 'cuz he wasn't asked to play, but it's ok Ringo, WE LOVE YOU!!!
I also thought it was a nice touch having the guys in the Pepper suits! Added just another pinch of magic to the performance.

-
venus&mars:

Starr says he wasn't invited to play drums with McCartney for his Live 8 performance, and didn't really want to discuss whether he would have liked to. "Well, it's too late now. So let's not talk about the past. I was never asked to do it. I would have only done it, if I'd dressed up in me suit," he jokes. "That would have been a big condition on my part."
My god he must to be invited
Why ??? Ringo wasn't on the bill at the first Live Aid.
-
Paul was performing with U2 - I really don`t see why Ringo should have been there as well or where he would have fitted in. Ringo is a good guy, but he is a human and yes, he can be grumpy - ask anyone who has asked him for his autograph! Ringo said himself that he and Paul have their own careers and do their own thing. There is certainly not bad feeling between him and Paul (although I think Ringo maybe a little jealous of Paul) - they were at the Cream concert together only recently. As far as I can remember, Geldof extended an open invitation to both George and Ringo to appear at Live Aid, which neither of them took up.
-
Ringo most definately should have been asked .. not like he was asked too tour with Paul ,.. why claim they have ill feelings toward one another..? they have been seen together at many events.... and Paul hasnt been grumpy when asked for autographs? Ringo was snubbed.......

The invitation should have come from Geldof. He was the one running the entire thing! Who really knows...maybe he *did* invite him again!?! It totally isn't Paul's fault.
-
I would have felt bad, too. Had I not known any better, I might've thought that Ringo was dead, too. It's kind of odd for Paul to be singing that song with Bono when there still IS another "Beatle" out there who would've been happy to do it.
-
If Ringo will have his own set, Live 8 would like the Beatles show! If Ringo will appear on stage with Paul to duet with him, Ringo will look like he was bellittled. You know, he is "big time.' But, at least, Ringo should have been invited to join Paul for a single number!!

Paul and Ringo haven't been in a group together in decades, as Ringo said they each have their own careers. I doubt either of them consult each other when they perform, so why should this concert be any different. It was Geldoff's idea to have Paul sing with U2. If Ringo wanted to be included, then he knew who to contact. It really isn't anyone's fault, but if blame were to be assigned, then Ringo should have picked up a phone. Like it or not, Paul's career for the last 4 plus decades doesn't involve Ringo, except for some isolated appearances on recordings.

RINGO"S COMMENT ON PAUL/BONO LIVE PERFORMANCE As for Beatles singer-bassist Paul McCartney opening London Live 8's concert alongside U2 with the Fab Four's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Starr says he liked it -- to a point. "I saw Paul and Bono being fabulous and I saw four stupid guys in Pepper suits," said Starr of the four-man brass section who were dressed as Beatles lookalikes in the legendary colourful band outfits. "I thought Paul should have worn the suit and Bono and Bob Geldof should have worn one. Like, real people should have worn them. Then it would have been a real statement. Just to have four silly guys in the back there, I thought was silly." Starr says he wasn't invited to play drums with McCartney for his Live 8 performance, and didn't really want to discuss whether he would have liked to. "Well, it's too late now. So let's not talk about the past. I was never asked to do it. I would have only done it, if I'd dressed up in me suit," he jokes. "That would have been a big condition on my part."
God, Ringo can be such a big freaking hypocrite. First he says he'll never tour again with Paul and he doesn't like being asked about the Beatles so much. Then he says he would have liked to have performed with Paul at Live 8. And for someone who doesn't like being asked about the Beatles so much, he makes Beatle references in all his new albums. God, I think the poor lad is going senile...

If Ringo didn't decide to be a no show and snub Live Aid, maybe he would have been shown some respect with Live 8.
