As much as I'd personally love a Good Evening Hampden DVD release, i'm afraid such a title will probably remain in the domain of the bootleggers, with their pristine artwork but lousy YouTube-ripped videos, each song more shakier than the last and pixelated to horrific proportions when viewed on a 40" LCD TV. I was almost certain that Kings Dock (Liverpool 2003) would have been released but when that one passed, I now hold very little hopes of an official Glasgow DVD ... or BluRay for that matter

Don't want to tempt fate but i've yet to attend an outdoor gig where it's been raining! : Long may it continue!
Even if it'd be pouring down during a Macca gig, I wouldn't mind. As long as there's no thunder

You are probably right....If there was going to be a release from the tour then it will probably be America. Even if he released a general Up & Coming Cd/Dvd and there were a few songs from each gig, the setlist has stayed the same at most gigs and to have Mull of Kintyre in Scotland on Dvd would be brilliant!

Only A Northern Song:
8 weeks ago today and I was sat in Block AA7 soaking up the sun, waiting for the show to begin. It was our first time in Glasgow and we a brilliant weekend. The weather was perfect, the locals hospitable and friendly and Sir Paul once again brightened up my life with three great hours of memories, while creating a few news ones to look back on. Cheers Macca, you've earned your knighthood several times over for services to music.
yes it has to be said that block AA7 was the place to be!..

Definitely!! Esp up front I was really pleased with the ticket I got through PM.com, brilliant seat (not that I sat on it for a second). Got a ticket for U2 through their website as well but I think we're really far from the stage for that gig. Oh well. I saw Macca up close, that's more important

The Hard Rock Calling footage from Hyde Park (streamed on YouTube) wasn't bad but hardly the legacy I want to remember the Up and Coming Tour 2010 by Macca playing Mull of Kintyre at Hampden Park - now there's something you want preserved in DVD / BluRay / 3D format There's an idea Paul's next release should be in the new 3D format. Imagine Live and Let Die with the pyro leaping out at you

i think the important factor despite maccas brilliance for me was that everyone in my immediate surroundings stood for the whole gig. not most of or part of the gig but the WHOLE GIG. i was in AA7 too around the middle and the scottish crowds attitude to stand and dance made all the differance.. well done glasgow

The crowd was awesome!! Funny that original security plan was that people were NOT allowed to stand up. I wonder how they were gonna handle that, lol.

To be honest, I was so wrapped up in the gig that I didn't even notice whether or not people were stood or seated beyond the first 10 rows. The security were probably just following orders but telling the whole of Blocks AA9 - AA5 to remain seated was evidently futile once the show started! I get the feeling several of them just looked at the sheer scale of the audience standing and thought "ah, sack that."

I was in AA7 and made a few new friends that night including a complete stranger I danced with for most of the evening and have kept in touch with. Interesting that so many visitors thought it a special atmosphere too It was a magic MAGIC night, and I've lost count of the amount of times I've watched this over and over again on YouTube!

A couple of minutes before the gig started Shelley, who works for Paul, and Paul's security told the head of Hampden security that people were allowed to stand it. That head security guy was pissed. He was standing in front of me, he walked away, pushed me to the front, said 'you can stay here now' So me and my friends stood at the front all night.

Im pretty sure the majority of people stood for the whole gig....I was a bit further back but not by much and everyone I could see was standing aswell as dancing about. Was a special atmosphere!

There's a You Tube video from someone who filmed from above and pretty much everybody in the whole stadium was standing. He should return!!!

If any of you have a spare moment, start reading this threat from the beginning. It's fun to read about the rumors first, then the gig was confirmed, then everybody was nervous for presales to start, then people were happy (or not) when they got their tix, etc. And now it's all over...

I know, it's really funny. It was me who posted first as someone had posted on their facebook about him coming to Glasgow, but I couldnt find out anything on the internet about it. Was so stressed for ages until it was officially announced. THEN stressed because of the carry on with the fan club presale and not getting any tickets. THEN was stressed about the 2nd presale from Ticketsoup. THEN was stressed cos the tickets took so long to come, and only getting one week before. THEN was stressed as was bursting for the loo minutes before Macca came on and worried incase I didnt get back to my front standing position! All in all, a stressfull time! But was the best night ever, and the excitment and build up of looking forward to it was great, meeting a lot of lovely new people. And now it's over!! I hope we all get the chance to see him again!!

I remember him announcing the first couple of gigs, starting in the US again. I was going 'damnit Paul, you're European, open here for god's sake'. And then the waiting for the European leg started. Which you can barely call a 'leg' since it was only 5 gigs. It was no problem that he was only doing UK tours. It's so cheap to fly across Europe these days, no problemo. But then I was thinking, Dublin, London or Glasgow? London was out of the question first, have been there too often plus it was a festival. I'm not the person that stands up front waiting for 8 hours and then 3 more hours of standing for the gig. So Dublin or Glasgow? Already went on a trip to Dublin twice so I picked Glasgow. Always wanted to go to Scotland so Scotland it was. And I did the right thing. Meeting with fellow Macca fans the night before, dancing on Beatles music during the Revolver gig was fun. Meeting my friends again the day after was also great. Of course the highlight was standing up front during the gig. It was worth every penny I spent. Although I'd never do a soundcheck anymore. That was o.k. to do once but that's it. But it got all of us up front so that was good Let's see where the final (?) 6 Up And Coming gigs will take place. Thanks to all of you that I've met and who made my weekend PERFECT! The best weekend of 2010!!! To quote Paul: See you NEXT time! Which will hopefully be Beatle Fest Liverpool 2011. Or Glasgow in Dec

It was awesome. It started funny really. I was sitting there all by myself in AA6. Then my friend Lorna (AA7) texted me where I was seated. I told her where I was and told her to come over. There were a lot of empty seats around me so I suggested to hang out together till the gig started. When the Texas chick ended we stood up and were just standing there. With bad-ass security keeping an eye on us and the several other fans that were watching. I already overheard one security saying that people were not allowed, not under any circumstances, to stand up. That's when Shelley walked by And as soon as we heard we were allowed to stand, we texted Christine to come over as well (you were in AA6 as well, weren't you?) and so we all had one of the bests spots of the evening. This is so NEVER going to happen again. I love Paul but I'm not patient enough to go stand in a line at 1 pm in the afternoon already while the show starts at 8 pm just to be able to stand in the front. Then I rather stand a little further back. We were really lucky that night!
