The ..2012.... Political thread

Absolutely, I agree. I have not encountered such bigoted views here. My two oldest buddies are card-carrying Tea Partiers. It's such a pity, however, that so much crap from the nut-cases is tolerated, ignored and -- sometimes -- encouraged by the moderate conservatives.
I'm glad we can agree on something - the Beatles music & Paul's music = Fab And partly agree on political matters btw - I have not advanced to a card carrying patron for any organized political party stage. I recon that I will stick to those guns - even though I don't own or carry either

Here's something we can ALL laugh with:
-
My favorite progressive, Ed Schultz, talks about the alarming income disparities in the U.S.:
And here's the biggest point: In Clinton's term, we had substantial job-growth and a surplus! With Bush's tax cuts for the rich: Stagnant job growth -- and record-speed deficits. -

And here's the biggest point: In Clinton's term, we had substantial job-growth and a surplus! With Bush's tax cuts for the rich: Stagnant job growth -- and record-speed deficits.Clinton was responsible for the law change of Glass-Steagall act. He used billions of SS to pay debt.. He borrowed more than any other President. All the SS IOU's have not been repaid. I have not taken the time to watch the movie MAXED OUT! yet but will. But I been told it too is a must see documentary. I have told you to see Inside Job and Smartest Guys in the Room.. Really once you understand history you not buying the hype with any of these politician. There crooked bastards and Obama is a good guy but he out of his league. Not one person from the 6 major banks( Jewish owned and controlled) that make up 69 of all banks, have paid a fine or spent any time in jail for the LEGAL bank fraud they perpetrated . In fact all these guys are on Obama's administration making the laws for the bankers. Yet yesterday, I'm on the phone for one of my kids in a negotiation mode with some obscure credit collector who buys up old debt for .10 on the dollar and 4 years later can send out one notice (which I contacted them and they would not talk to me and talked to the bank involved and was told the debt was written off and than checked my kids credit report and it did not show up) They than sent a server to serve a summons to appear in court to my house and when I contact them tell me that not only can they do this but my kid responsible for all the cosst. So now a 53.00 bad check is costing 639.00 and threaten my kid with a sheriff (not sure how the tax payers got to foot this tab) to serve my kid if she doesn't give them a address. They also said she owed for 3 checks but only notified of on the one. Total debt was less then 121 dollars and they get interest, fee after fee and all court costs and if you go to court to fight it I been told it wil be three times that amount. Guess who ownes these companies? Lawyers who can't make it as a lawyers and investors. Big banks etc. Did you know all these Money Tree's and these kind of check cashing places are owned by these large banks. ALL!! A young person recourse? Fill out a form on the internet (that doesn't work) to the Attorney General but have been warned these fees are legal. Go to court and if you lose will pay 3 time the cost. So now we talking 1800. So no way to fight these legal collection agency who have lobbied laws into place allowing them to rack up all kind of fees on checks as low a 5.00 and if they don't reach the person they can go to court and than they can get a judgement (all costing the person) and go in and take the money right out of your account(including all the bullshit fees). This than will be on you credit report for 7 years and 10 years if you don't pay. If you pay it still on there for 7 years. Do you want to hear the car accident where this same kid was hospitalized and before she was released her car was auction off (3 weeks to pay for impound fees and they have the legal right to sell you can and bill you a 1000 for doing it) The money for that went to the police dept fund. Oh Yes. I been battling my legislator to do something to make legal chop shop from stealing the poor cars like this illegal but good luck getting to talk or near you representative.. They all talk the talk but when it comes to getting involved with anything the cops got pushed through..they act like you talking in some foreign tung. Than they wonder why people are shooting cops and legislators . Remember too all these courts that the bill collector use for free are paid for by your taxes dollars. These Sheriffs paid for by your tax dollars to arrest you for not paying Guido fees that would of been illegal in the 30's and 40's.

On Trail, Trump Basks in Spotlight By JEFF ZELENY ... ?I?m very proud of myself because I?ve accomplished something that nobody else has been able to accomplish,? Mr. Trump said. ?I am really honored, frankly, to have played such a big role in hopefully, hopefully, getting rid of this issue.? ... complete NY Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/28/us/politics/28trump.html?_r=1

He's de-valuing his brand. And he's taking the Republican brand with it. More and more and more people are leaving the Republican party and switching to Independent. It's going to be a very short honeymoon for the GOP.

A possible billion dollars to work with - his name already tossed in as a candidate - Jetting all over the place campaigning - A trip to Oprah (his launching pad for the first term) - never really stopped campaigning - able to use the office of President to jet over to some state to have a meeting (not having to be claimed as a campaign stop) .... say a few campaign words .... That is going to be hard to beat at this time. (no competition at this time ..... all of them "exploring the possibility"....) The only way to beat him now is on his "record."

There is such a disconnect from the politician to the people. If they had to give up a percentage of their pay .... tied to the rate of unemployment ..... if they had to give up a percentage of their pay ..... tied to the price of gasoline ...... if gas goes up more .... their pay decreases ..... Not that I really want this to happen to them ..... but their direction and priorities are on a different page then many of the people out here in the real world .... that they are suppose to be representing. They do not feel the pain and struggle of having to make their dollars last to pay the bills. What I see right now from them is some good acting and theater.

And now it turns out that the -- ahem -- researchers who had supposedly learned all the "alarming" and "disturbing" information were tabloid muckrakers. So, what was the disturbing information that would've been the biggest con-job in American politics? Not a god-damned thing.
