Obama always has a great sense in humor. Do you know the video where he throws a three-point field goal on the basketball pitch? Brilliant.
He's got a good ability to laugh at himself, which I appreciate. I haven't seen that video--do you know where I could find it?
Yes, that's indeed a good ability and sadly not many people can laugh about themselves.
Now this thread has morphed into a political one??? Thought we already had one of those. I guess I should drop in here more often...

We do.....and I choose (for the most part) to stay out of that one for a reason.....let's not make two

There is something about Adele I just can't stand...seems like a nice person, I just don't care for her music. Lady Gaga should just stick to the basics and her talent. I hate people with talent that need all the costumes and fireworks to go with it. If you have talent....people will recognize it. Don't need to be the most strange one to get attention. Katy Perry too......just act and look normal. Get rid of the blue hair.

In fact blue hair's fine compared to the type of crap Lady Gaga comes up with to get attention.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. If you have to dye your hair blue or wear strips of meat, you are trying to attract attention for the wrong reasons. Anything extraneous like the glowing costumes does nothing but distract me from your music. I have to wonder how good a singer is if they're trying to grab me visually instead of musically...

I mean, look at our Paul. He's the biggest person in music, he pretty much has a bottomless suply of cash, and look how simple the stage setup is. Stage with him, Rusty and Brian up front, Wix, Abe and piano at the back, a few huge screens so everyone can see and for the videos, and that's about it. No B-stage or costume changes or backing dancers or anything. Just the 5 of them and that's it! The craziest he's ever been was in 2005 with that awesome curved screen stage!
-
Yup. He has that cool screen behind him that shows clips from videos or photos, but that's because the arena is so big that people can't see him anyway, so they can at least enjoy seeing something. (just kidding--I know he is projected on the side screens so most folks in the far back seats can see something.) A lot of the artists who do dance numbers, costume changes, fancy shooting things, etc. also lip synch, which makes me crazy. If I wanted a stage show instead of a concert, I'd go to Broadway. :

I guess the history of music is cluttered with artists looking like complete do do's, we had Elvis in those silly jump-suits, Elton dressing as Donald Duck, Bowie looking like aladinsane, one of my pet hates although not to extreme were The Beatle suits, i thought they were horrible, but the winner of bad taste must go to Michael Jackson, he took stage presence to a whole new level by changing his face!! someone should also have told him white socks went out with Jazz in the 50's.
