Flaming Pie Tour

BTW, am I the only one who wants to hear "Souvenir" live?
Oh I do. Probably my 3rd favourite from the album (after Young Boy and Song We Were Singing). I just don't think it's plausible.

I don't know. Maybe a stripped down version? (The singing/instruments, not Paul... )

I would love to hear that live too although I would prefer Young Boy. And I really want him to bring back Flaming Pie & Calico Skies.

Calico Skies live was a dream of mine that came true. So happy to get to hear that one with the band backing Paul. Flaming Pie was also great live. While I like Young Boy, I'm a sucker for Souvenir, even with the logistical problems that might come from doing it live. I think if Paul and the guys changed it up the way they worked with Calico Skies, it would sound fantastic.

They are 2 songs I would love to hear live, love them both. I can't fault your enthusiasm for Souvenir They would probably have to change it up like you say, the Calico Skies live version is superb.

I remember hearing Calico Skies live for the first time--the waterworks started, let me tell you. I'm not sure how they could/would change Souvenir to make it work, but given the magic they performed on Calico Skies... The possibilities are endless.

I would probably have gotten emotional when I heard him play Calico Skies at Citi Field except that on the night I saw him (opening night), he messed the words up pretty good (twice) and I couldn't help but laugh. Still, it's one of my favorite songs from one of my all-time favorite albums so it was a thrill to hear him play it live!! In fact, hearing him play two songs from that album live during the same concert was pretty awesome!!! I'm so glad he acknowledged that album's material during his live show in recent years. Especially since he rarely goes back into his solo catalog. He played "Great Day" live once at a benefit, correct?? Also (and maybe somebody on here can help me with this cause my old memory is getting a bit dim) didn't he perform an acoustic version of "Little Willow", via tape, back in the late 90's for a TV special honoring Christopher Reeve??

If you or anyone can find video of that, I'd love to hear this version of "Little Willow"--it's so beautiful, and one that I'd love for him to dust off and play instead of some of the Beatles songs, perhaps.

Still love the wix-less Flaming Pie version (1.52)

Wow, yup, that does sound great! It has a more "rock" tone to it minus Wix on the song. (Sorry, Wixrocks!)

There we go! Amazing song.

Yes! Definitely: Souvenir, along with Beautiful Night, No More Lonely Nights, Pipes Of Peace and Once Upon A Long Ago as new additions would make my favourite set list no matter what else is performed, even if the rest consists in 25 different variations of Temporary Secretary.

Let's not tempt fate on that last song. He might throw in an encore of Frog Chorus if we're not careful.

this was I think the hardest Album for Paul to do at that time. he was looking for Faith Hope and Miracles. so most of the CD could not be done live as it has Precious Moments and meaning, for the heart and Soul of those who were around him at the time. it was just, well it is the Most Beautiful Cd that he could make for his Lady! Caliko Skys could be done, on acoustic, with a white spotlight, just beaming on him. that would put a reverance on the whole meaning of that CD! Reverance Respect and Privacy reguarding those Minuets and days of Heartaches to come, too soon.

Very well put--it's a touching album that I hold in a special place not just because of what Paul and Linda were going through at that time, but because he managed to pour his heart into it even more so than he normally does. It's a testament to everything good and bad he was going through at the time, and also to his first time working with his son, James.
