The ..2012.... Political thread
-
The_Fool:
President Obama does have a "record" now .... what he has done and what he has not done ....(something to show who he is and what he wants and what he is doing to accomplish what is in his thoughts) .. *You probably won't see it through the main media .... The main media is out to Destroy the other side ... if you can't beat them ..... Destroy them.
And what would that record be Fool : What has Obama done and what has he not done : Do you even know : You all like to make little insulting remarks but not one of you knows anything about policy or reality. I have asked this question for years...Why would anyone be a republican : : Their policies have been the cause of the great depression AND the great recession. They don't protect our country Their taxation policies have created the greatest income inequality since the great depression Which the same policies also created They have stood in the way of any progress on climate change. They deny science Their regressive policies on minorities (including woman) harken back to the dark ages Why on Earth would anyone support this mess of a party. : :

Is seems like a lot of this thread is insults at the party someone isn't affiliated with. Is it possible to have a discussion without sinking to that level? It just seems like we're not really getting anywhere here, aside from raising each other's blood levels. I know that with politics it may not be possible to not have a heated discussion, which aren't always bad things, mind you. It just seems like some heated exchanges in this thread haven't really led anywhere...

Do you think it's a heated discussion to ask why someone supports a political party? Policy is what it's all about. If a person can't even defend their party with facts...that's very telling. The republicans don't want to talk about policy now because really their policies have been a disaster. That may sound like an insult to them...but it's the truth. If they don't think it's the truth they should defend it with FACTS. Really, if any other country had done the same amount of damage to the US that the republican party has we would be bombing them now. There's no polite way to say it and I think it's dangerous not to point out where our country went astray. I don't think the exchanges in this thread will really led anywhere just important to counteract lies and misinformation with the truth. I'm not so worried about their hurt feelings as much as I am worried about how they have screwed up the world.

I'm not sure that posting insults at others is really going to solve anything, though. If you believe Republicans are dangerous, then get out there, work on changing policies, lobby, contact government officials, work on the campaign of a Democratic candidate you believe in. You're posting on a musician's forum, not on the White House's webpage.

I do work to change policy. . I think it's hilarious that the repubs don't want attention placed on their multitude of shortcomings. Believe me if there was much that they could criticize about the Dems they would be doing that in spades. But all they have is criticizing Obama's vacation If they don't want to post in the political thread they don't really need to. There're are lots of music threads here for them

Criticizing is done on both threads......you just read what you want. Anyone can post where they want. At least others just don't stick to one thread.....

I don't have very much time as I spend a lot of time working to change policy and I have a life Check out the environmental thread sometimes. I spend my time on areas where it will do the most good and I try to forward our hosts environmental and animal rights agenda.

That's fantastic that you are putting your money where your mouth is, as they say. I might caution you, though, to remember that our host doesn't forward his beliefs in a belligerent way.

If you read my Macca's Meatless Monday blog I'm having a lot of fun with promoting environmentalism, animal rights etc. Our host does speak the truth about his passions especially in his support of PETA...which does get him some flax now and then. This is a political thread and criticizing and supporting policy is what it's all about. The opposition is not able to take the criticism and can't support it's policies with facts. Now that they have screwed up the country with their policies they want everybody to forget about it and make nice...that's hilarious ...have a nice weekend

After we finally got another Democratic President I sighed somewhat a sigh of relief. love doris
