James McCartney

Saw him in NYC at the Gramercy the other night. He sounded good, but I thought the sound system suffered. He is so shy, I thought he would be more comfortable in front of an audience by now after having a bunch of shows under his belt, but it appears he is still working on that part of his live shows. It wasn't packed (Wonder Bar in NJ in Feb had more in attendance). Enjoyable evening. I was wondering if the elderly ladies sitting to the right side of the stage might have been family, I mean these ladies were looking like they were in their 80s. The Gramercy is a cool venue, an old theatre with a lounge and bar downstairs where you can hang out (with screens showing the artists on stage) if you aren't keen on the opening acts.

Nice way to start the new year, purchased tickets to see James at the World Cafe Live in May!

That is great TLP! Maybe sometime this year I can see him too. He is the only musician I have ever heard do Neil Young's "Old Man" justice. I really dig his music... I like that song Cherry Blossom Hailstorm, is my fav. right now. Rock on James!

Fingers crossed for you, kittay! We saw James at the World Cafe Live last June where he put on a very good show. We were very impressed, enjoyed every minute! Wholeheartedly agree, James performs Old Man beautifully!

Thanks. I do not get to see many concerts right now. I missed Neil Young and Crazy Horse just 100 miles from me in October 2012, due to the fact I did not want to leave my 16 year old black lab alone for the trip. I missed Robert Plant due to the fact he sold out in seconds in August 2012! There are only a few bands I even go out of my way for due to all the trouble with ticketmaster, etc... Neil, Robert Plant and James McCartney are the 3 I would really love to see. I have seen Neil before and Robert Plant, maybe James' concert will happen.

Beatles Examiner reported that Yoko was at James' recent London gig.
Yes she was. I was close to her!

Thanks for posting the dates, could not find them earlier. James is coming to the South! Cool, I hope I can see him. I am sure by then, everything will be groovy around my time.

You're welcome! I thought of you when I noted the southern dates, hopefully you will be able to attend one - fingers crossed for you!

He definitely inherited his dad's vocal range.

I emailed the venue closest to me. 4 tables is all the seating they have, so I won't be going. It's in a college town and I'm guessing it's a mosh pit atmosphere. I would not enjoy that.

Unless he is opening for Slayer I think the crowd will be ok. Come on go to the show you know you want to. The crowd will be all people like us here on the board just interested in seeing Paul's son live in concert. I hate general admission and I went to the Wonder Bar show in Asbury Park NJ and it was fine. I hope you change your mind but understand if you don't.

Just wondering, what is GA? And why do you hate it? Pretty strong word is hate. Want to avoid a bad place...

They mean "general admission" (for a sec there I too thought "Why do they hate Georgia?")

That is what I thought, but did not want to assume...then though general admission sounded more applicable. If it is too crazy, I'll just hangout in the back somewhere, you can still hear the music.

One venue is about 2 hours away and the other is 3 hours away. I've seen James once. I will sit this one out.

I edited my post to avoid any further confusion

I didn't realize you had already seen him. there is not much I would drive that distance for anymore

"My good friend James McCartney will be playing an intimate acoustic gig at The Ambassadors Theatre (my old stomping ground) on Wednesday March 27th 8pm, ahead of his US tour. I'm looking forward to joining him on a number or two, hopefully we'll see some of you there too." Ronnie Wood

DID ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT JAMES McCARTNEY (Paul's son) COMING OUT WITH A NEW ALBUM CALLED "ME?" ops: BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW! I BUY "WINGS OVER AMERICA (DELUXE EDITION)", I ORDERED RINGO STARR'S "PHOTOGRAPH" PHOTO ALBUM ON iTUNES AND I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT JAMES McCARTNEY'S NEW ALBUM! WELL, I BOUGHT MY COPY.
