Birthday? I LOVE that one! Where did that fit in? None of the sets have it listed.
It was during the second encore: Yesterday / Birthday / I Saw Her Standing There / Golden Slumbers. He mentioned that a baby had been born (the father was a crew member, I think) and played that song. He also mentioned something like "tonight is the last night of our South American tour, so we'll have some fun and play a request from the audience" and then performed "Ram On". There was someone with a sign asking for that one. By the way, the soundcheck was very nice as well. He played "One After 909", along with several other songs.

That's awesome, best second encores of the tour by far!

For my part, I think the set lists are fine. McCartney HAS added new songs to the list, maybe not as many or the songs as some would have liked, but consider that he has played in the last couple of years, LETTING GO, JUNIOR'S FARM, VENUS AND MARS/ROCK SHOW, MRS. VANDERBILT, COME AND GET IT, THE WORD/ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE, HOPE OF DELIVERANCE, among others. I do wonder why hits like SILLY LOVE SONGS and LISTEN TO WHAT THE MAN SAID are ignored. Those are great songs. Maybe someday we will hear them live. But in the balance I think McCartney delivers.
I can't agree with any of the first paragraph. Its not enough and the majority of those songs and have come and gone. I wouldn't even count The Word/All You Need Is Love. Can't believe he would add that over his own songs. I do agree with your second paragraph tho, its unbelievable he ignores those 2 songs in particular along with an infinity of other tracks.

Glad people had a good show tho...

Yes, it was a great concert. He used typical expressions of the region, just like he did in Recife. The crowd went wild. By the way, I saw MJ Kim (Paul's official photographer) in Florianópolis and he was kind enough to take a picture of us with my camera.

For me the great songs ignored by Paul are "Tuf of war"- "Wanderlust"- "No more lonely night" - "Once upon a long ago" and many songs from Flaming Pie album.

Did everyone see the great headline on the report about this show on Paul's new site? The post talked about how it rained during the entire concert and yet people stayed and sang along with every song. The headline was ... "What if it rained? They didn't care!" Cute.

Great version of Hope of Deliverance!Nice...always fun to hear the reaction to a song...as it's recognition goes through the crowd. COOL clapping!

No illness can stop from attending a McCartney concert. It rained and I didn't care! I will post some pictures when I'm back home.

I was somewhere in those lines outside the stadium:

I'm still in shock that he played that wonderful song even one time, but twice? I need to find whoever filmed the song being performed at those shows and give those people high fives!

I've got all those "special songs": "Hope Of Deliverance", "Birthday", "I Saw Her Standing There", "Venus And Mars", "Ram On", "Yellow Submarine", etc. In fact, I've got a lot of interesting stuff on video from the five concerts that I went to (around 70 minutes from each one), but I'll need time to transfer 20 Gbytes to my PC. Stay tuned.

Very nice. I'll be waiting (im)patiently. Glad you had a great time at all of the shows, and I'm hoping I can return the favor of updating, photos, and videos when he's in the US this summer (hoping, hoping, hoping).

Most of you will not understand a word (unless you can speak Portuguese), but a reporter interviewed me while waiting outside the stadium for the concert in Florianópolis. You will see me from 1:38 onwards. http://mediacenter.clicrbs.com.br/templates/player.aspx?uf=1&contentID=249278&channel=47

I said that every McCartney concert is a little different, as he changes a few songs and even includes some surprises. I also mentioned that sometimes he sings along with the audience and makes up tunes on the spot. The reporter checked several Beatles-related facts with me off-camera and used that info throughout his story, so I guess I helped him write it.
