The "Ram" Remaster Thread
-
Crazy, who does Paul employ to do this stuff?! Ram has received next to no publicity, he needs to get a Jools Holland slot or similar and push it like he did BOTR!
-
He's clearly put a big effort in this remaster as it contains more than the other previous ones with regards to the deluxe edition but why not promote it like he did with BOTR. If he really wants it to finally get the credit it deserves he's not going the right way about it, well he's going the wrong way about it. A slot on Jools Holland would be a good start.

This week in the U.S. is the big release of the George Harrison documentary DVD and simultaneous release of a new CD of George's demos. I'm guessing that Paul did not want to be seen to be trying to steal the spotlight from George this week. Which is smart, given how quick people are to jump on him about this sort of thing. So Concord and Paul will wait until next week (after Mexico concerts are done) to promote this. There is still plenty of time. He could even promote the Ram reissue in connection with his 70th birthday in June.

but that would mean having to learn or relearn 2/3 songs from RAM to play live,it would take a bit of rehearsing and time...do you think anyone would notice if he just came on and played 'jet' and 'drive my car',surely no one would notice

I can't help it Lazy. The poor man needs defending. You should see me go to town on the Daily Mail haters. But I do think the "Beatles family" avoids stepping on one another's toes in the release of new stuff -- if they can.

the mono limited edition vinyl says "currently unavailable" on amazon. is this because it is already sold out you think?

Looks AMAZING. Thanks for sharing. Would just appreciate an annoucement on pm.com and the price being the same in the UK as it is in the US and a discount for premium members.
-
im not sure whats so 'amazing'. the usual nice packaging with a retro feel.hardly anything worth getting excited about.i would sooner have someing unreleased/. i shall bide my time and pick this up for about £20-£30 in 6 months time just like the rest of his superdelux editions.

I think its because its the first real glimpse of what your getting and the packaging its in and its friggin' Ram man. Although considering McCartney & McCartney II are still £50-£60 nearly a year on I don't think you'll be getting this one cheap that quick.
-
So now they've renamed the normal 2-disc edition as the "deluxe" edition and the deluxe becomes mega-super-duper-deluxe or something? All getting silly... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ram-Paul-Mccartney-Linda/dp/B007L96VCY/
-
Almost as silly as the prices: £8.99 for the single album £13.00 for the 2 disc edition £85.97 for the full shabang! What the hell is that all about?!
-
I'll avoid shabanging (not always wise to shabang at my age) and settle for the 13 quid pack. The bloody money charged for some of this stuff is scandalous! For 80-odd quid I expect the thing to take me to a hotel room, have it's wicked way with me, make me something to eat afterwards and then drive me home! I mean I love 'im and his music but I'm not shelling out gazillions for a box and a book. Don't they know there's a bleedin' recession?!
