Obama team reaction to announcement of Paul Ryan for mitten's VP http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/9287/obamareactstoryanpick.jpg Their statement:
?In naming Congressman Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney has chosen a leader of the House Republicans who shares his commitment to the flawed theory that new budget-busting tax cuts for the wealthy, while placing greater burdens on the middle class and seniors, will somehow deliver a stronger economy. The architect of the radical Republican House budget, Ryan, like Romney, proposed an additional $250,000 tax cut for millionaires, and deep cuts in education from Head Start to college aid. His plan also would end Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher system, shifting thousands of dollars in health care costs to seniors. As a member of Congress, Ryan rubber-stamped the reckless Bush economic policies that exploded our deficit and crashed our economy. Now the Romney-Ryan ticket would take us back by repeating the same, catastrophic mistakes.?
Huh. I thought that pic was taken during Willard Romney's disastrous Euro trip. Thanks for clearing that up.

Since that comes straight from the bowels of media matters, who cares? And speaking of lying, it should come as no suprise to you that Obama completely and utterly lied about Paul Ryan's position on Welfare and Medicare...such a stupid lie....he should stick to the more lies which take up more of a challenge to rebut, such as 'where was Obama born' or 'does he really have the college degree he claims to have'... But regardless, we now have NBC, Media Matters and the Obama Campaign team themselves who have blown their cred right up and out of the water in the past 6 months to a year...but this latest episode with Obama lying himself (nothing new there actually) was such easy pickings, please do us a favor and at least think some of these lies through before you barf them out to this country's citizens

Paul Ryan? A "fiscal hawk"???? Yep!!! (generous headline, if you ask me) Ryan's Record Shows Flexibility on Policy http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444184704577587594113012250.html Please try and defend this, conservatives. Ryan voted for several bills that added hundreds of billions of dollars to the deficit during George W. Bush's terms, destroying Bill Clinton's surplus and balanced budget. "Read some of the letters that Rep. Paul Ryan sent to Energy Secretary Steven Chu to endorse stimulus proposals submitted by organizations in his home state of Wisconsin, even though Mr. Ryan called the bill a 'monstrosity.'"
-
The vast amount of contradictions from Willard Romney are very much like, well, a Paul McCartney concert: The hits just keep comin' and comin' and comin'. Does Romney Think Paul Ryan Is Qualified To Be President? "Throughout his campaign, Mitt Romney has hammered President Obama for a lack of experience in the private sector...In fact, Romney even proposed a constitutional amendment that would require any president to have worked at least three years in the private sector. And so it?s surprising that Romney has picked Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), a man who, outside of a job at McDonald?s and a brief stint at a company owned by his family, has hardly any private sector record." http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021111107

I majored in journalism in college, and I interned at one of the daily newspapers in my city. I learned very early that most news outlets -- local news, especially -- will not give its audience the news that it deserves. It provides "info-tainment" to suit target demographics. Alternative news sources are where the real news gets reported.

Agree audi 4 more years are becoming a reality What's really great is that with Ryan this opens up a lot of down tickets races also The move picking Ryan shows a real desperation by mittens and no political chops...what was he thinking? Totally bizarre move and gives Obama a chance to frame the election about a choice between their now VERY CLEAR ideology to destroy Medicare, Medicaid, Roe vs. Wade and everything else that helps people. And incredible opportunity to destroy their massive failure of an ideology for once and for all. Yep, it's getter better all the time

Rich, you realize that the number of times you mention Media Matters and Daily Kos dwarfs the number of times that mustangsally and audi actually reference them, right? And if you can't do anything better than 'blah, blah, blah liberal trash' to deconstruct an argument, the source of the information is as irrelevant as your lame attempt at refuting it. And you keep referencing these "polls" that would be indicative of a supposed Obama-weariness on the part of the majority of voters, yet most polling -- be it mainstream, alternative-liberal, or otherwise -- indicates the exact opposite. Ignoring the amusing hypocrisy of demanding pointed facts only from 'Rich's List of Approved News Sources' yet making vague, baseless claims to advance your argument, the polling that shows Obama with an advantage over Romney at this point in time is validated by a staunch conservative such as yourself resorting to childish name-calling when discussing the opposition. audi calls Romney a hypocrite for his criticisms of Obama's private-sector inexperience despite his running mate's similarly lacking resume. You call Biden a retard and a f***tard because, well, you just don't like him. If you're going to be such a hateful, poor sport now, I can't imagine how insufferable you'll be on Election Day, regardless of the outcome.

There was a time when news sources were expected to take politicians to task. Nowadays, mainstream journalists are so skiddish because they are terrified of being dubbed "liberal." It is perfectly credible for liberal publications to have a "slant;" it is my observation that they clearly substantiate their positions.

The morning news talked about Biden's inartfully timed choice of words. I understood the intent of his comments. So, as a black man, I was not offended in the slightest. And he's right: Deregulating the banks WILL keep the country "in chains." Now, when Romney insults the entire NAACP, that was a deliberate smack-in-the-face, which, I'm sure, had your side all giddy and snickering in private.
