Doctor Who is usually on at 9pm here on BBC America. Do your shows really start at weird times like 7:20pm? Only movies and such on Showtime or HBO or something do that here.

In the UK Doctor Who is deemed family entertainment and 7.20 is definitely the highest prime time slot for this target audience. It's always been "after tea on Saturday" ever since it's black and white early days. 9.00 pm is deemed the "Watershed" here in the UK, the time after which TV programming may include more adult content - bad language, adult themes. Supposedly after younger children's bed-time - although that notion seems to be out-dated particularly at weekends. And while that's not compulsory, programming seems to be designed that way to maintain viewing figures. Cynics might nowadays say it's at that time to avoid Simon Cowell's X-factor shows - I'd reverse that and say Simon Cowell's shows are delayed until after Doctor Who has aired as they cannot win the air-time battle against Doctor Who Martin

Oh, Pond Life isn't animation, it's live action starring Matt Smith and company. First episode of five with omnibus episode collected before the new Doctor Who on Saturday Sept 1st shown today on the web-site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00xwctd Only 54 seconds long - like a trailer but not featuring clips from the new series. Maybe filmed on last years locations in anticipation? Needs some more analysis. Martin

That was funny! "Laid down some tracks."

BBC America 36 hours of Doctor Who leading up to tomorrow night's season premiere. Marathon began this morning at 8 AM EDT

Did the USA get to see the on-line teasers this week? We get an omnibus edition tomorrow (still only a few minutes) ahead of the first show proper later in the evening. Martin

Just looked at the web-site the full six minute mini-adventure Pond Life omnibus edition will be available from 04.30 hrs today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01mmqtt Then the main show from 07.20 hrs PM tonight. Clear the tables, plump up the cushions, settle in. Welcome Back Doctor Martin

Seen the whole prequel series now in it's omnibus form. Definitely setting up the new series with a cliff-hanger ending. Whovian fans are ensuring these are shared world-wide via Youtube just search: doctor who pond life Bit early for today's omnibus edition when it does appear it'll be around 6.00 minutes long. This is a privately edited compilation of the whole thing though:
Little, if any, difference from the official release showing now on BBC Red Button Service. Martin -
That was brilliant Martin, thanks! Can't wait until tonight!

As usual the teasers and trailers completely disguised what was to unfold in the first episode. Very clever. Gutted to learn where the milk and eggs came from However this article may be of interest: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/articles/Steven-Moffat-and-Jenna-Louise-Coleman-Discuss-Her-Doctor-Who-Debut http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/galleries/p00y2wnk Martin

I couldn't figure out in the beginning what the hell was going on with Amy & Rory! Glad that was finally explained! It was a great episode, I thought.

How is she going to be his companion if she's really a Dalek now?

How is she going to be his companion if she's really a Dalek now?
He's a Time Lord with a time machine, he could easily cross paths with her before she and her ship crash landed upon the Asylum Of The Daleks. The life of Doctor Who is simply full of similar paradoxes. After all, in the episode The Doctor's Wife, the "Tardis" momentarily brought to life in human form made it clear that it was she that stole him away, not visa-versa as he'd assumed. And that it is her that selects where and when he might happen to go next despite his other intentions. So if the Tardis decides he needs a new companion, and can detect how he he felt towards this character........ Martin

Duh! Of course, time machine!

We are absolutely thrilled that the new season has arrived and very much enjoyed the first episode, Asylum of the Daleks. Found it quite interesting that although Amy and Rory are referred to as the Ponds, and River Song as Melody Pond, Amy signed the divorce decree in the name of Williams indicating that she had in fact taken Rory's surname. Favorite line of the episode... Rory: "What color? Sorry, there weren't any good questions left." LOVE the scene in which Amy and Rory are discussing which loves the other more - very nicely done by both Gillan and Darvill. The look that Oswin gave......"and remember!" Brilliant! Hope everyone enjoyed the season premiere as much as we did.

More on this query. Reading all the press reviews you've clearly asked "THE QUESTION" that Steven Moffat wanted everybody asking after the screening of the first episode. So presumably when the question is resolved Steven Moffat will have something spectacular lined up for our enjoyment. Martin

Catching up... Dinosaurs on a Spaceship Favorite Lines: Rory: "Dad, I'm thirty-one, I don't have a Christmas list anymore." The Doctor: "I do!" Rory: "Why can't you just phone ahead like any normal person?" LOVED the ending with the postcards from Brian. A Town Called Mercy We enjoyed this episode very much... Favorite Lines: The Doctor: "I see keep out signs as suggestions more than actual orders, like dry clean only." The Doctor: "Anachronistic electricity, keep out signs, aggressive stares...has someone been peeking at my Christmas list?" The Doctor: "He's called Susan and he wants you to respect his life choices." The toothpick scene in the saloon...... LOVED the Doctor's new coat, wish he would have continued to wear it. LOVED the ending - very touching! The Power of Three Great episode title! Favorite Lines: Rory: "Take your dad to work night - brilliant!" LOVED this... The Doctor: "Because you were the first - the first face this face saw - you are sealed onto my hearts." Hard to believe that next week's episode is the last until the Christmas Special......
