I'm fairly sure Harley that Paul will be playing in the opening ceremony on Friday and his band are already here in the UK rehearsing From what i've read on Twitter , it's not going to be shown live in the US though, i think there'll be a 6 hour or so delay .What a shame ! It starts here in the UK at 9.00pm and will finsh around midnight. Fingers crossed that the sunny weather we have this week will will hold out until friday night !

Paul reportedly said he's "closing the Opening" meaning last performer at the end of the "artistic" celebration of "All Things British" which opens the ceremony. The Ceremony lasts about three hours of which only the first 90 minutes or so will be the artistic introduction - after that will be the normal Opening Ceremony formalities: The entry of the athletes. The hoisting of the Olympic flag The athletes and officials make a promise to conduct themselves with honour etc An address from the head of the Olympic organisation. The Queen declares the Games officially open. The torch arrives and we wait to see which athlete - or athletes - get the honour of lighting the Olympic cauldron, and - maybe more importantly - how. So I'm guessing we'll see Paul about halfway in..... Martin

It was a good ceremony. I liked the first part best, the potted history of Britain. I could hear the bass...no new guitar sighting, though (unless I missed it)!! A nice sing-a-long to finish!

I think my fav part was the NHS section , loved seeing all those Mary Poppins flying in Brian used his new guitar during the first few lines of ''In the End'' but it was so quick that we didn't get much of a look at it close up. At least the weather stayed mainly dry

Loved their performance! I could keep seeing them playing all night long! Paul looked like so moved and happy and what beautiful is the sound of Brian's bass! I just love that loud and clear bass solo during the *na-na-nas*! And I got to see the "girl": Brian Ray '63 SG on "The End".. Looking forward to seeing the pics he said he will post soon!
