It's unfortunate, but most of the folks who also didn't like it no longer post on the forum...seems like I really am in the minority these days!

We all stand together. I didn't care for it either. My Valentine is nice but that's about it for me. Missing them all too.

I'd prefer an album of back-to-back Frog Choruses to Kisses. Pretty boring around here without views that don't agree that everything Paul does is gold being expressed, isn't it?

yes & having people trying to make you feel like you don't have a right to express an opinion. I guess this really isn't a free (speech) board.

It is rather frustrating. For a DISCUSSION forum it seems a bit odd...

Is the DVD very different from the Download that they gave premium members?

It sounds like it's just a free download of the physical DVD, minus actually owning the physical DVD and the booklet, etc. I have no intention of buying the DVD or even downloading the free copy, , so I'm of no use to you on this one!

I think the one you actually had to pay for was better than the free download. More behind the scenes or something?

They probably gave us the non-premium download for free, then. Figures.

I think they've just about exhausted every bit of mileage out of the entire Kisses project. True, it has kept Paul on the charts for most of the year -- and that's great -- but the reality is it that it's not going to come even close to duplicating the commercial juggernaut that Rod Stewart's songbook albums had. I hope this DVD is the final round of promotion that we'll see for this. I'm ready for a genuine Paul McCartney album again. It's been too damn long.

For the record: Kisses On The Bottom has ten times the artistic credibility than all of Stewart's Songbook albums combined.

Maybe they have a few more surprises up their sleeves & can make it stretch out to...ummmm....maybe Valentine's Day?

Couldn't agree more. I never want to hear Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart in the same sentence again, unless it's "And that's how Paul McCartney released 3 original and amazing albums in one year in 2013, something Rod Stewart can only dream about."

DVD is the same except it has additional special features. (Haven't watched those yet). I downloaded the large file and my personal view is that the DVD has better picture quality. I would have liked the DVD to have an uninterrupted complete performance rather than the comments in between the songs. But it is a good DVD.

I find the success of Rod Stewart's songbook series absolutely baffling -- they're cheesy, Vegas, icky records. And yet I guess that's what this X Factor world loves. I can't emphasize enough how greatful I am that Paul's KOTB album took a classy, sophisticated approach. And if that meant lower sales, well, so be it. The one thing that made me smile was that pretty much every positive review of KOTB slammed Rod Stewart's songbook series.
-
I think Paul McCartney has 10 times the artistic ability of Rod Stewart. You wouldn't thing there would be anything more they could do with Kisses but time will tell.

It's just a lyric from one of the songs. What else would he be referring to?

The title is just about as tacky as it's possible to be. That's the only point I'm making.

I like the title of the album just fine. The tongue in cheek thing works well, and its a great song that the lyric comes from. all great songs. I watched about 5 minutes of the vid and I cannot wait to sit down and watch it. I love that setting, a room full of musicians making the music happen. Paul on the spot, loving the songs as you can see. and Abe was spot on on the backing vocals I saw, I think the first song was 'Kisses on the Bottom'. great players playing well, video looks cool. Nilsson did something that was recorded similarly in 1973, but it was more him and an orchestra, Pauls is more a jazz combo. I know tons of artists have done stuff like that, but I'll mention Nilsson in 1973 I think the special was called 'Has Anyone Seen My Mouse?', I could be wrong. Paul's is called 'Live Kisses' you knew that.
