Then there's the statement about "jobs", I mean producing weapons also "creates jobs". Does it sound familar? just like the "Obamacare" thing, in the end the debate is: Jobs vs Lives. What is more important and what receives bigger protection.
I've heard similar arguments regarding cigarettes. They create a public-health crisis, yet, employ many people in "tobacco states" like Kentucky.
It seems like anything is good if it "employs" some people.

This is U2, Bullet the Blue Sky in Boston 2001 or 2002... all about the guns in the USA, with Charlon Heston, talk about Lennon, "war is over we don't need your help, America's making the war to itself", data, etc.

In the aftermath of this senseless, heinous crime while we gather ourselves to give support and again state that we can not let this happen again we will be reminded of why it has been so difficult to make any progress against the gun violence. As we try to even discuss the possibility of enacting policies to prevent such tragedy in the future there will be the usual push back. But,but our freedoms! What about our freedoms? How about our rights and the constitution? For over thirty years the 'freedoms' argument has won. The party of individualism over common good, massive deregulation over sensible protections and of having the confidence that if the few do very well with no impediments, their success will 'trickle down' upon the rest of us has stacked the cards. We are now witness to what has been wrought from the abundance of 'freedoms' The abundance of 'freedom' has wrecked the global economy and has been responsible for the loss of a generation of forward movement by the middle class. 'Freedoms' made our health care system one of the most incommensurate on Earth. With access only to those well enough or wealthy enough to afford it. The 'freedom' to pollute has driven our planet to a climate crisis which imperils our species and which we may not be able to mitigate. 'Freedoms' have endangered our education system, our health, our food systems and our very privacy. And now 'freedom' has massacred our children. I am sick to death of 'freedoms' There is no freedom without responsibility

Some people need to take their heads out of the sand! Guns are not the problem, how can anyone miss that? It's sinful Godless people that are the problem, guns don't kill, people do!! A gun can't do one single thing unless a human being uses it, so it's not the guns, it's the ruthless, evil, twisted, unGodly person! I shared with you that a tsunami was coming and it has started, it will appear in all kinds of forms, just watch. America chose the side of the unGodly, and it will reap what it has sown. Doesn't matter what you say, what you think, whether you agree or not, the ULTIMATE AUTHORITY, THE ALMIGHTY GOD has warned us. If you take God out of everything, what on Earth do you think you will have left? Sin, evil, unGodliness so don't be surprised, this is the road we have chosen!!

Apparently, God hates compassionate liberals, monogamous gays and persons of differing faiths. Yet, "He" is Jim-Dandy happy with those who blow up abortion clinics, picket the funerals of dead U.S. servicemen, run for President on the GOP ticket and pretty much lie their way through the whole damn thing, stage phony soup-kitchen photo-ops, rape and impregnate women (the baby is a "blessing" ya' know), send poor whites and minorities off to war but underfund VA hospitals,... ...I could go on...

What do you mean audi? I'm not one of the sensitive members here. I can see clearly what goes on here and by whom and my expectations are very low. When someone makes an unwarranted jab it's a reflection on them not me.

I was afraid that I'd worded that poorly.ops: No...what I hoped to convey was that it was rude of someone to question the veracity of your post.

((audi)) I guess I was the one who wasn't clear. I understood what you meant and I got that al sabah was questioning the veracity of my post. Makes her look petty. She doesn't know me or my work.

I was up late watching Elvis and Jerry Lewis movies with the bf -- guess my circuits ain't so charged up yet.

I see no reason for hostility. I was not expressing a political opinion with which you disagree. I merely asked a question. I apologize if my question offends you.

Why would anyone ask who wrote anyone's post? Obviously, they wrote it unless attributed to another...rather silly Well enough time spent on silliness ....better things to do

...and the stream of lies from the Romney klan -- er, clan -- continues. Mitt Romney ?had no desire to run,? son says: "Mitt Romney didn't want to be president, anyway. That's what Tagg Romney, Mitt's oldest son, told the Boston Globe for its big post-mortem on his father's failed presidential bid published on Sunday. ?He wanted to be president less than anyone I?ve met in my life," Tagg Romney told the paper. "He had no desire to ... run. If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. "He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them," Tagg continued. "He has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn?t love the attention.?..." http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/mitt-romney-no-desire-president-tagg-says-191236665--election.html Seriously???? Then explain why he's been basically campaigning since '08! Willard Romney ran the most desperate campaign in the history of U.S. elections, and we're supposed to believe this malarkey from his corrupt son????

Please, God! Please, God! Oh, please, oh, please, oh, please, oh, pleeeeeeease, God, let this be true*! Ashley Judd Trails Mitch McConnell By 4 Points In Senator's Internal Poll "An internal poll from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's campaign shows him leading actress Ashley Judd by 4 points in a potential matchup for the Republican's Kentucky Senate seat. The poll, by Republican firm Voter/Consumer Research, demonstrates that McConnell's camp is taking the possible challenge seriously. While the details were not publicly released, a memo of the results was provided to outlets including Politico and The Washington Post. ..." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/21/ashley-judd-mitch-mcconnell_n_2345006.html?utm_hp_ref=politics I can't believe Senator McConnell even has the nerve to collect a paycheck. He has been the spearhead of unprecedented obstruction in President Obama's first term. And it would be a dream-come-true to see Mitch McConnell (a "career-politician," by the way, which conservatives are SUPPOSED to scoff at) get booted out of office in the next midterm elections! Go, Ashley, go! She hasn't declared a candidacy yet, but McConnell's peeps do need to be nervous. *=who says liberals are "unGodly?

"one of these days"... we're going to talk about McDonalds. Sure you may have heard about the "Globalization" of the economy. But the "McDonaldnization" of the economy is a better word for it, as I've read sometimes. McDonalds has been kind of the main role model for the companies for years, their business model has been the most influential. It's a McDonalized world these days. It's a much bigger thing than their burguer restaurants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonaldization

So...are you OK with McDonald's employees working with no overtime...or are you _no_t OK with that?
