Paul, Come To Australia
-
I'm holding out hope, but also starting to look into plans to hit Japan because after 11 years of rumours I just don't trust that he'll come here.
-
Anything is possible, but it seems if Paul were to play Australia, he would do it while he is in the vicinity, ie either before or after Japan. I am not convinced he will go all the way back there two or three months after just being in the region. There are still two good months for Australia dates in November to be announced. Who knows? Then again, McCartney completely ignored the Rocky Mountains and the Southwest on this OUT THERE tour of the USA.
-
If there's anything I've learnt from the great Paul it's to not give up hope (I don't know where that came from, just go with it ) Once the Japan dates were announced, this crossed my mind. For sure, there's a chance it might not happen but there's also a chance it will. I'll keep hoping that I'll get to see my musical idol before he retires or goes to join the great John and George in Strawberry Fields forever but until there's a definite 'no' I will keep my fingers crossed.

A group of us are planning a Japan trip. I don't trust the man, or his organisation anymore. My patience has been exhausted.

He's not coming. I have that information straight from the horse's mouth - well, the jockey at least. He is not coming to Australia.

Do you know if there's a way for us to purchase tickets to shows at the dome from here and have them shipped etc? Or even what the site would be that sells these? I know someone in Tokyo who was going to check into it for me too, but seriously looking into this and am with ya on not trusting that they'll come to Aus. How many shows are you guys looking at? I was considering the First two Tokyo Dome shows at this stage. Quick trip as I can't really afford to go due to some family stuff in the last few weeks.

I'm looking at 2 Tokyo shows (1 soundcheck package if there is one), then hop a plane to Las Vegas for more LOVE and the two Ringo shows on the 22 and 23rd Nov. Melbourne to Tokyo - 10 hrs. Tokyo to LA - 10 hrs. Perfect!

Do you know where us Australians can buy tickets?

I'm assuming a Japanese website. Hopefully that all becomes clearer when the tickets are officially released.

That'll be an amazing trip Moptops!!!! Anyone know when tickets are onsale? Me making it kinda depends on my tax return hitting the bank first haha.

This was posted in another thread but they said these presales don't get great seats. Wish I could read Japanese haha! http://kyodotokyo.com/outthere

I've a feeling Australia is next. Say what you want, Moptops. Stop being so miserable. You're not going to get anywhere, and you're just making yourself look like an idiot.

Says the man who lives in a city and country where McCartney tours more than he has tepid, squishy vegetarian dinners! Moptops has access to some very accurate sources and is more of an optimist than you'll ever know. He is devastated and angry this time round as an Australian tour makes more sense off the back of a Japanese tour. His info is McCartney is not going to be touring Australia this year. So once again, Moptops, being the passionate fan that he is, is going to travel overseas to see him perform. You, on the other hand, are more likely to complain about and not travel to Philadelphia see to him! Australia deserves better from Paul. As does Denmark. To cancel and not return another time is quite within his right. Its the lack of respect for his fans and the frankly pitiful PR spin and excuses offered up that offends. Not only does he indulge in the most appalling revisionism of Beatles history he is a complete hypocrite. Did he cancel Madrid? No. Did he forgo playing in NYC immediately after 9/11? No, he played a benefit concert weeks later. Did he reschedule after using a bombing in Bali as an excuse to cancel his Melbourne show? No. Apparently, he felt he couldn't play as it would be an insult to memory of those who died. THAT'S the insult!!

It?s why I come on here less often. Because people attacked me for posting about how I?d like Paul to play a show for his home country as part of the Out There tour. It?s funny because the only people who attacked me, just happened to be seeing Paul multiple times this summer. So, I feel for you, Moptops. Just keep posting what you like. You?re not breaking any rules. I happen to think you?re a good guy who just wants to enjoy Paul as much as others have on here and it?s just frustrating. Nothing wrong with having passion. I think the problem is that, so far, the tour is quite disproportionate. There are too many dates in one country, and not enough elsewhere. I hope he does a few more Euro gigs near Christmas to make up for the appallingly small amount he?s played there this summer. And I won?t put the hopes up of Aussies on here? but I really have my fingers crossed for you guys. If I were an ageing multi-millionaire rockstar, I?d be playing for the fans all over the world just out of gratitude and for fun? not because it makes the most money in certain places. Everyone on here deserves to see Paul, no matter where they?re from. There should be no fan hierarchy, because sometimes it feels like that on here.

My interactions with both moptops and graystoke have not always been the most positive, but I can surely say that they make a damn good argument. If moptop's sources are accurate, how could you not understand the frustration, the letdown, the slight? And... ...so nice to see ya' again, FrankieJ!

I don't blame moptops one bit, it has to be frustrating to see Paul tour year after year and have your country keep getting skipped. 2013 saw Ringo finally get back there as well as Springsteen, too. So why not Macca? Fingers crossed for you all in Australia!
