Paul 's new album
-
I'm sure he doesn't need a co writer but sounds like the album will be 3/4 songs with each of the four producers - some 'solo' some with the band, some collaborations / co-writes with a producer and some not. Either way sounds promising. The feedback from 3 of the four producers has been very positive. The comment from the journo that it could be his best non Beatle song, and that's not too hard, is lazy and ill informed although lets wait to hear it!! Am intrigued by the producers comment about the song 'Struggle' being a defining statement at this time in his career.........

I hate to think that Paul McCartney needs a co-writer, like he needs help writing a song. I want him to get the full credit, not half.
Lennon-McCartney McCartney-MacManus McCartney-Yout Well he doesn't need a co-writer. It's not about "need." It's about collaboration. Nothing wrong with that. And that's how Epworth works with artists --- as a co-songwriter.
What does a collaborator do? He helps another writer write. If the other writer did not "need" help, what is he there for? You can parse words and try to justify it all you want but it still won't give Paul full credit.
This is getting silly. Sometimes two creative people spark off of each other and the whole ends up being more than the some of its parts. I vaguely remember that happening with a Brit band a while back. What the hell was their name...? Beetles or something, I think.

so anymore "new" news on this?

For those that haven't seen two brief interviews with Mark Ronson. He reveals that Paul writes good songs (!!!!) and he learnt alot about production from him (!!!) http//www.rollingstone.com/music/news/paul-mccartney-worked-with-mark-ronson-on-new-songs-20130322 http//www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a473879/paul-mccartney-album-inspired-by-usher-reveals-mark-ronson.html

well done, lad, well done.

I'm actually suprised there is so much information available in the form of interviews or comments with three of the four producers - including one of the producers playing one of the new songs to a journalist. Normally the only information to come out is strictly controlled - including all relevant parties being told to keep quiet until after the new album is released....

I don't get why Paul doesn't just produce it himself.. he's a better producer than any of them. I'm excited for this album!

These are hugely well-known guys. The publicity is already benefiting Paul, creating an early buzz for the album. I am intensely curious about how this album will sound.

The publicity may be benefiting him but the time frame... oh my. We are READY!

to say the least.

They could at least tell us which month, or say by the end of which month. Surely they have some sort of time line. Keeping that from us is not cool. Anticipation is one thing, but this is overkill.

Paul often does best when there's a producer pushing him a bit out of his comfort zone, e.g. Godrich on Chaos and George Martin on Tug of War. Maybe he's realized that over the years, as he doesn't self-produce much anymore, unlike the Wings days when he generally did it himself.

really getting impatient for this one!

I agree. New record excites me a lot more than new tour.
