Sara, I think the reason wy people forget Ringo si because he was the drummer and didn't write any of the songs.
I know that he wrote a few, but the only one mentioned while he was in the Beatles was Octopus's Garden. And he and George wrote what I consider the most Beatlish tune after the break up: Photograph. Paul and Ringo did collaborate on a tune or two for Flaming Pie as well... Best, Sam C.

Hi again Tashi I say he's an `idiot' because how can you criticise the band that will still be talked about 1000 years from now ??Love and hugs Sam.
Hello again Sam, I try not to get too upset with opinions that I strongly disagree with or label someone with that. It is just their taste, that is all. Although I consider it bad taste, I don't dismiss them as a fool or an idiot. Of course, all in my humble opinion. As for the Beatles being talked about 1000 years from now....I would like to think so.... I would just as soon be happy that people are still around 1000 years from now....but I know where you are coming from. Of course, if the person comes here and posts a number of posts in that vein, there is a Beatles song that would fit that individual...Fool On the Hill... Cheers! Sam #3

This morning when I voted Sam does have a commanding lead. I don't know what happened since yesterday. I quit watching MTV when these ridiculous videos started coming out. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched it. Having young fans on this board and other lists I am on lets me know that the music of The Beatles will never die. Their music is the greatest ever! And here I am, 40 years after the British Invasion, beginning with The Beatles, still adoring my idols.

Good morning everyone Giri, Jen and Libra I agree with you completely. Sara, I agree with you completely as well I was wondering if any of the UK members saw the BBC special on Mendips. It wasn't broadcast here I am off to vote for Sam now! Cheers, ~Tashi

Oh Okay Samuel I didn't know he wrote OCtopus's Garden. Photograph is his song and I think never Without You was a good one he wrote. I din't know he wrote any songs on Flaming Pie. Which songs did he write on that album? What I meant was the wasn't the prime writer for the Beatles like John,Paul, and George were which is why people forget him because he was the drummer and not in teh front as much.

Hi Sam, thanks for your wishes. Well, my CD is not progressing at all. I'm resigned. I only have the chance of put it in my local radio station or so. On the other hand we're working on the Adopt A Minefield common CD. People are finishing the recordings.
So what is all on this Adopt A Minefield project?
It's a long long story. http://macca.devstars.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9775 At first started like doing a CD tribute to Paul with music of the people of the board who have a band, etc. But we realized that we had to pay high royalties. So we're doing a CD with music of people of this board. It begin as a non-profit project. We thought of selling the CD at the cost-prize. But we came with the idea of give the possible profits to Adopt A Minefield. We're working on the project many people together. One collects the songs, other is a kind of manager, etc. I would like to have songs from all the people here in a CD. And if it has a kind of success it would bring money for charity and who knows a kind of promotion of people here. I think that many people here is excellent. Actually I know that this record musically could be the best CD edited this year. Cause I know the stuff of the people. We'll have the best 1 o 2 songs of every artists. And they are good ones. But as well this is complicated we don't know when we're gonna finish it.

Tahsi, I agree with you too. It is sad to see these very same peace love hippies allow their children to listen to Eminem who spreads everything they protested against tand Marilyn Manson who has to sing about violence to shock and Britney,Christina and all these people selling sex to little children. Sex is not a bad thing but i believe it should be done witht he right person not anyoen and everyone. I do hope all this stuff dies down otherwise I'm afraid they are going to turn this country ultra conservative like the 50s. What was supposed to be a good thing in the 60s has gotten out of hand. People compare all this stuff to Elvis wiggling his hips and the Beatles having long hair and all that stuff, which is sickening. wiggling your hips and having long hair are nto crimes murder, rape, and having sex with children are serious offenses and people make a joke out of it. IT makes me sad.

Hi Samuel i love the song Photograph, i hadn't realised they wrote it together till i listened to the Concert for George on CD and before the song Ringo said this was a song George and I wrote together and now it takes on a whole new meaning.. such fab song it's shame they didnt write more songs together!! George wrote some excellant songs as well during the Beatles era i love his solo stuff, it's so amazing, he never did get enough credit for his talent i think as a song writer...did you know when the Beatles first came here in 1964 Ringo was the most popular one at the time!!

Hey all, Hopefully within 10 years all this stuff will die down, at least a little. But with the way it's going strong now, I'm not holding my breath. I mean tell me if this isn't horrible--- just recently my cousin (she is 6) and a boy that I babysit for (he is 5) got caught PRETENDING to have sex!! And both of these kids are exposed to about everything you can be. Their parents allow them to watch any movie they want, anything on TV, and they listen to this rap crap all the time. I mean the little boy goes around trying to rap like Eminem... Had it not been for all the exposure to all the sex on movies and TV, do you think this whole incident would've happened? I don't!! And their parents don't seem to take the hint that they get these ideas from the movies and TV and music. Why does anyone stand for this?? I mean how sickening is it when you see 9 and 10 year old girls that dress skimpier than most teenagers? And little boys with the baggy pants and chains walking around thinking they are pimps? Disgusting! I mean I hate to think about what kinda adults these kids are gonna turn out to be, I didn't grow up with nearly as much crap as kids today, and I still turned out pretty bad, so it scares the hell out of me to think what these kids are going to be like!!
Hi In 1964JohnLennonwashot, It is pretty sickening to see little kids pretend to have sex. I see little girls wearing bikinis alot and see them wearing shirts that show their body abd little boys lusting after women and dressing like gang members. I think parents are too liberal these days and let kids get away with too much. That is why as my best friend said it is better to read than to watch television. I was also told that kids roam around at night without parental supervision. Scoeity is going crazy. Magazines, commercials, movies, music,tv and the fashion industry are teaching childrent he wrong things and parents dont care. Our supreme court aloows this short of things as do lawyers. They twist freedom of speech to allow this short of stuff. When Iw as a kid in the 70s and early 80s we didn't ahve all this garbage on television and music and we weren't allowed to see rated r movies. I didn't even know what sex was when I was a in my early teens until a few years later and didn't know what gay meant four letter words meant when I heard them at 10 or 11 or what gay meant or anything like that. I wasn't even allowed to watch Risky Business when IW as 13 or Rambo because of the violence. As for rap and Eminem they are alos sick individuals and I can't believe people praise that kind of so called music. What decade did you grow up in?
Hey Paulfan, Sometimes I just wish I could make all of this crap stop. I mean for a long time I didn't have a problem with any of it until one day I was watching a cartoon (even THOSE are getting bad!!) with my brother and it was REALLY violent, and my brother was just laughing so hard. With all these influences I don't want to see what is going to come out of it. Parents cut kids way too much slack these days. I grew up in the 90's and even then I was exposed to a lot, but not nearly what goes on today. My parents have always been strict (or just stubborn, maybe ) but when it comes to things like this sometimes they cut me a lot of slack. But then they have the nerve to complain about other parents who let their kids watch anything. And as I tell my mom over and over-- Don't complain unless you intend to do anything about it! grrr jen

Hello Gang. I've been very tied up writing stuff which is why I haven't said much today. But....I've been popping in and reading your posts which are excellent and thought provoking. One point about cartoons being violent...they always were. What was worse than Tom & Jerry ?? And Mr Magoo with his `lickle gun' ? People will sort out the problems we have...never fear. I'm very sleepy so I'll say goodnight and thanks for all your votes. We're 72 ahead but must keep pushing to make sure we stay there. Love, Cheers and hugs. Sam.

Pulled this off of Jorie's site -- Sam have you heard anything of this kind? February 4, 2004 The word out of Germany is there will be an announcement about Paul's upcoming summer tour there on February 21st. Rumors are dates have been confirmed by the promoter. Rumored reports from last month had revealed inquiries by Paul's promoters for Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Croatia, England and Spain this summer. Rumors are also flying that Paul will tour the US later this year with 21 plus cities on the tour roster.
