Does anyone even know yet if he is indeed going to use the rising stage this year?
We really won't know until the 19th in Uruguay. While I understand the position of those sitting near the stage their dislike of the "rising stage", I have to admit having seen it from near and far, sitting away from the platform, the "running water" affect is really beautiful! It actually appears that the entire stage is "floating"...pretty amazing!! And, the best part, for those up front...it's only 2 songs.
Well, I'd rather there be no mini-stage and therefore be closer to Paul the entire show! (I had 4th row center in Memphis and hope to have the same in a future concert)
Yea, I agree with you Nancy. Are you going to any of his upcoming shows?
Yes, if he comes to Atlanta or Nashville (or somewhere relatively close to Atlanta!)
Paul needs tighter security in Atlanta. All of those Walkers to worry about!

New stage, old stage, mini stage, maxi stage, back stage, front stage, who gives a ****? : I just want to see HIM!!!!
makes a difference if you're paying for those VIP seats.... why you rolling your eyes
Rolling my eyes because it seems silly to quibble about a minor inconvenience like the stage setup when the whole purpose of going to a concert is to see HIM perform. If a person is able to pay a lot of money for a VIP ticket does that mean they are entitled to be close enough to see his nose hairs? Does it specify on the VIP ticket that the VIP ticketholder will be X amount of feet from Paul? And then when the VIP ticketholder isn't as close as they had hoped for, are they allowed to sue the ticket company? : : :
everyone's entitled to their feelings and opinions - no one is saying anything about suing or they want to look at Paul's nose hairs,,, you are,,,haha.. it just takes away from the experience. You have nothing to worry about if you are not buying these VIP tix...now, do you? row 1 isn't actually row 1 anymore it's more like row 5 or 7....and if you have experienced the floor and these front rows it feels like a take away... those tix are expensive... every ones circumstances are different and if someone wants to spend that type of money to see their favorite artist or their entire life savings -it's their choice... no need to suggest or slight fans - hopefully,... it's the real fans that get these seats & not someone with $$$'s to burn.. they want to be up close & personal-- it's the ticket holders personal experience... no need for the eye rolling --- I'm done here ....
I approve, as well. By the way: I know Paul would never actually do this, but this is the most visually spectacular thing I've ever seen done on a concert stage: Justin Timberlake's moving stage -- everyone in the building eventually ends up with the best seat in the house:
-
That is great! BUT, you know there will be fans that complain "When the moving stage was by me, he was at the other end of it-all I saw were the backup singers..."
-
pood for paul:

You're probably right. Still, though... ...there are MANY admirers of Paul's back-side 'round here, so maybe McButt will suffice.

Very cool!

Fa' shizzle.

I'd still rather see him do like Pink & get shot out into the audience & "perch" atop different stationary towers.

Hah! I think if that were to happen Nancy would need to get into buying some life insurance

Hopefully Paul is already insured! He has quite a propensity for accidents (falling into the piano pit, tripping coming off the stairs from the piano and falling flat on his face)

haha love that! that's the way to move a mini stage----

I like the platform, and think it's a neat effect..... but NOT at the expense of creating an unnecessary larger than usual gap between the main stage, and the front audience. It's a shame that it wasn't designed so that the platform was built INTO the main stage.... rather than being a separate thing sticking out in front. The way it is now: The way I think it SHOULD be: They would just use the top surface of the platform - in the lowered position - as PART of the main stage, and Paul would stand on it, in his usual centered spot, for most of the show.... and then go.... up, for the two songs. Really, whoever designed the current version, did a lousy job, imho.... It's a very awkward design, with far too much distance between performer and audience. Though, at least it's better than THIS:

Being in the UK i've never been to a Paul gig with this stage platform, but i do agree with everyone here who says it makes him feel too far away - the whole point is getting front 10 rows is that you're 10 rows away, not 15 rows away! And for those who just think we're seat snobs - seeing Paul at a stadium from 10th row feels further away than in an Arena at 10th row due to the size in front of the stage - all things like that make everyone feel further away (And a 2nd stage at the back for a few songs, or the moving thing like you guys postd of Justin would be fab!!) But my cynical other half thinks the platform and the gap it causes is so that fans are further away from Paul so they can't see his comb over and his saggy skin as clearly (*these are NOT my words so feel free to come over and have a go at my boyfriend!!*) (Though it's our 20 year anniversary next week so go easy on him! He's used to my Paul devotion) (ps - even without the mini stage, he has increased the gap at the front by a lot the last few years. I was lucky enough to have 2nd row in 93 and there was about 1 metre gap from the barrier to the stage! In 2009 there was 2 metres, and i swear in 2011 at Manchester Arena it was about 4 metres of gap)

They need extra room (a few feet) between the stage & the start of the seats for the rolling camera gear guy too. :
