What was the best Wings gig you saw and why??
-
The one and only chance I got to see Wings was Paul's first New York concert since the Beatles...May 21, 1976 at Nassau Coliseum. What an amazing concert. It was everything you'd expect it to be...and MORE! "My Love" from WOA was recorded that evening.

Me too, only one (Atlanta, GA) Fantastic concert!

Glasgow Apollo 17th December 1979. A legendary gig (check out the Last Flight bootleg if you need proof). The live version of Coming Up was recorded that night. Still my favourite McCartney gig EVER.

I was there and agree it was a fantastic night! I think my favorite gig tho was Edinburgh on 15th December 1979, two days before. I had a better seat than in Glasgow and that was also the night that the power to the PA system cut out and Paul had to actually improvise until they could get it turned back on.

My favorite would have to be the one I was at in Chicago in 1976.

Ah were you up in the "ashtrays" at the Apollo then? I was downstairs in the stalls and joined the rush to the front. I can just about see myself in the photo on the tour section of the website. http://www.paulmccartney.com/live/tour-archives/11582-wings-uk-tour

Cool that you are nearly in the photo! Yes I was up in the ashtrays, altho first row at least. The balcony shook when everyone stomped and shouted "Paul McCartney!". For the first Apollo show I was in the stalls, somewhere near the middle. For Edinburgh was at the front of the stalls. All three of those shows were magic and they all are still among my most cherished Paul gigs.

Actually can I be front row on the left side? That was Jimmy's side!
-
Back in '76 it was festival seating, so you could snake yourself thru the crowd to get as close to the stage as you can. And yeah, tickets were less than $10.00.

That would be my favorite Paul time period to go back to too!

Festival seating? You mean general admission? Not where I saw him (Atlanta)

Okay, you can sit in front of Jimmy and I'll sit in front of Paul!

McNichols Arena in June 1976, Wings Over American tour! I had already seen a Beatle before, George, also in Denver in 1974, so I thought I was over that part of it. Wow, was I wrong. After the Venus and Mars/Rock Show beginning I thought I was about to be able to catch my breath, but then Wings went right into Jet without any break and kept their stranglehold on the crowd through out the night!

Kansas City 1976, the first time I saw Paul live, $50 ticket and I was very close to the stage! Missed my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary to see Paul
