Yeah, he has lost so much of his Liverpudlian accent (or intentionally tries to speak with an American accent) I don't like the way he sounds now at all. (his speaking voice) Funny how Ringo still sounds exactly the same.
Well, Paul hasn't lived in Liverpool for over 50 years so it's natural his accent has changed. Same thing happens to anybody that lives in an area for a long time (including Paul spending a lot of time in the U.S.), you pick up that accent, I know I've lost some of my midwestern accent living out in CA for 14 years now. Ringo has lost a bit of his as well over the years.
Funny why is it that I can still hear a bit of an accent in his voice? Of course I do agree that he lost a lot of it but it's still there though I think.
Where in my post did I say he lost all of his accent? His accent has changed, it's not the strong Liverpool one it was back in the 60s etc but I didn't say he has lost it all.
I've read several times over the years that Paul and John both had rather "posh" accents, thanks to parental and Mimi influence, nothing like George's, but that they could and would deliberately turn on the thick Scouse when they wanted to!

Well, if you believe the Paul Is Dead theory, Paul has been "different" since 1966. I believe that the passion Paul has for his music will never die, and is still evident today. I really admire the fact that at 72, Paul is still writing and performing, but you can't compare Paul today, to the Paul of the Beatles or Wings. I think people are too harsh on Paul, and really need to think about what they're saying. Paul is an accomplished musician, and deserves to be respected for that. I understand that his voice will never be the same again, but it still has a lovely quality to it. Rock on Sir Paul, Rock On! George Harrison R.I.P 1943- 2001

I spoke to a woman who was a little older than him said it was good a young man like him can still sing. love doris

I notice he doesn't really smile as much as he used to in interviews and pictures. I always thing that's weird since he seems so joyful on stage. Even though he doesn't seem to want to leave the public eye, maybe he's tired of being asked the same old questions and doing the same types of events.

I think the reason for this (and perhaps what I perceive to be the biggest change in Paul) is in how he views the media...I don't think he's overall more bitter...but perhaps is little more bitter (or at least weary) when it comes to the media. Because you're exactly right - he seems almost tire and disinterested in interviews, but quite alive and fresh when out live on stage

I think you're right. He's working with Kanye and mixing electronic music in his spare time, not sitting around reminiscing about the Beatles (or at least when he does, he does it in song). It must be tiring to always be asked the same questions over and over when he really wants to be more relevant, and he probably could be if people stopped emphasizing the past so much. At first I thought he was just getting older and a little more tired. But compared to the happy and exuberant way he is on stage, I have to think it's something more mental.

I don't know, you might be shaped by things that happen in life, I still think it's a core there that are as unchangeable as "Love Me Do", but you may change the way you see things, this way changes also the unchangeable. One thing I know; I'm still a fan, It hasn't changed, although I might have - in your eyes. Haha, enough! Amateur philosophy.
