Camera Question

I will keep it in my cargo pants pocket and see what happens with the entrance. It surprised me how far the lens juts out when you zoom - even just turning it on. I think someone said something about no longer than 3 inches and the lens doesn't extend beyond 3 inches.

They don't turn your camera on.

I did some practicing in a dark room with a powerpoint show on a projector. I figured out that my camera doesn't work with some of the recommended settings on line for concert photography as the aperture doesn't open wide enough. But the stage is usually pretty well lit, so I"m hoping it will be okay.

Yes, the stage is very well lit. I didn't use my flash at all. Remember to try to meter off of his face.

I didn't use my flash either (from 3rd row) Photos came out great.

Your advice was much appreciated. It took a while to get the hang of spot metering, but once I did it was fantastic. It helped that he was wearing a white shirt for the concert. Zooming in close to grab the spot for the meter is tricky without a tripod!

Here is a picture from near the end of the concert with my Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS40. Awesome camera - captured some great video too. "Comin down fast!"
