Thanks, but my question went on wrong thread. Sorry.

I wonder what's the origin of two tracks downloadable from Paul's site, Letting Go (Extended Version) / Rock Show (New Version). : Ok, Letting Go is the original rough mix, but Rock Show? Is it an outtake too? :

I think that's the 'Geoff Britton on drums' version recorded at Abbey Road studios in November 1974, during the same series of sessions that produced Letting Go, Love In Song & Medicine Jar. Without mentioning the title,Paul alluded to this track during a Melody Maker interview at this time, basically saying (and I'm paraphrasing here) that they were having problems with a rocking type of song.

So a different take compared to the longer version on the Venus And Mars Remaster's Bonus Audio CD, which is stated as "Old Version", recorded at Abbey Road on 1st November 1974.

Well, I'm aware that this is a boring subject: what's the instrument heard on "Love My Baby"? It doesn't sound like a piano. Maybe an upright piano? Uhm, it doesn't convince me A celeste? It appears a toy sound... But, more important, why I'm asking myself about that?

I haven't heard the 'old version' to be able to make a comparison but I assume the 'old' and 'new' versions originate from the same session, unless they sound totally unalike performance wise.

It sounds to me as a xylophone (a proffesional one, not a kids toy)

Yeah, most probably you're right, I had the same sensation during one of the listening. Very strange!

It seems that the "new" version derives from the New Orleans' sessions early in 1975, it's more "solid".

Personally; I've never downloaded any free music available from any of the Remasters that I've purchased. Would they still be available to download from the Remasters I have like McCartney 1 or 2? What's the point if I already own the remastered box sets; is there bonus material not available in the box sets? Wow! That was a mouth full; I hope I make sense.lol!

I love the new versions of Take It Away and Tug Of War. I have problems downloading them, but listened and they are way groovy!
