How Much Money Do You Need
-
recently this has been bugging me. I've seen so many hard working guys and girls get ripped off by these corporate execs, which gets me wondering- how much money does one need? I mean really- if you're not spending all of it, how is this surplus helping you? a false sense of security? not worth the jobs of millions. I'm fed up with seeing friends and their parents getting laid off or taking huge pay cuts because the totalitarian CEOS want this money. I'm done with corporate privilege, seats at shows, games, etc. It's time hard working people stop voting for these people who do not care about the interests of society- just them and their corporate cronies. Time for people to realize the real enemy. ISIS, sure, they're a threat to the nation, but it's time people got out from under their rock and took a stand against these monsters. Rant over

I need enough to pay for rent, groceries, octopus card, music and Disney merchandise.

I was able to go down to two 8-hour days a week (plus some call) but I can only do this because my mortgage is paid, my mom & son live with me and contribute some, and I make a good hourly wage.
-
Can I borrow your mom? LOL.

Sorry, no, I claim her as a dependent!

I wish I had enough money so we could pay off our mortgage in full.

It is sad to see so many corporations that treat their employees so badly and could care less about them, even though they are a huge part of what drives their businesses. Greed is present not only in many corporations, but our government now as well. The "lowly" workers no longer matter to so many of them, all that matters to them is where their next million or billion will come from even if that means stomping all over the middle class to get it. I feel fortunate that I have a great job in a company that is well run, where the employees do matter and are treated well. It gives me enough to have a roof over my head, help to finish paying off my student loans (I'm almost there, so close compared to where I was when I graduated!) and pay other bills, and put money aside for retirement and into regular savings for cushion. It has also allowed me to do some fun things like do a bit more traveling and go to concerts and other fun things.

^^ At least you have the right attitude & you also have a good head on your shoulders. Many barely make an attempt at anything.

Right now I need $10. I'm going to 7-11.

Thanks oobu24. I've been in the spot where I was barely making ends meet and I vowed never again as long as I could help it and I hope I never have to be there again.

Yep...been there done that. Working more than one job at a time. Doing whatever it takes to get SOMEWHERE.

I think everyone would like to have their mortgage paid off and their car paid off Then you could go part time and do something you like to do... or travel... not that monthly mortgage headache, right? The corporation I work for really underpays its workers and it literally takes 15 years to get up to a top pay scale, not comparable to similar businesses. I guess it's like cream, it all rises to the top and those people golf and have days off.

I don't have a mortgage or a car. If I worked part time, I'd be dead. I do travel a lot, though, so maybe it balances out.
-
I need just enough money to pay my bills necessary to live. I would like to have some nice clothes and makeup, but that is a luxury now. No one will give me a job. And I have a college degree. What a waste of my time. Of course if my home and other properties had not been destroyed I would not be in this position.

What do you have a degree in kittay?
-
I have B.S. in molecular biology. I really like Literature and the arts as a hobby. Edit: I don't care if a job is in my field of study. I just need a decent paying, real job.

I keep telling God that if we win big on the lottery just once, I promise it's not going to spoil us.

If you have a degree from an English-speaking country, you can easily get a job if you're willing to move to Asia.
-
^^ I would be willing to relocate just about anywhere and have researched other countries and their opportunities and economies. Asia would be very far off from my culture as in I don't speak anything but English. I took a year of German in college but don't remember much of it. Spent time in a Spanish country for awhile but not fluent in Spanish. I am still looking. Thanks for that idea.
