Paul, Come To Australia
-
sugaplumfairy:
audi:
"Soon, man...soon!"
Why are you saying "soon man, Soon"?! where did you hear that?!
"Paul come to Australia!..." "I will, I will!" "Please come to Australia, we love you!" "Yes...soon man, soon!" The above exchange was captured on video verbatim from a mate who asked him directly. I have the clip. Time will tell.
-
Did you tell this audi guy about the clip @moptops? I'm just wondering how he knew "Soon man, Soon"!!

We discussed it before w/him, lol sorry

Correct.

So now it's official. After a long 23 years and many aborted and 11th hour cancellations Madonna returns to Australia and New Zealand. That now makes McCartney the sole holdout and the standalone act to wear the "non Australia appearing" crown. As a mate said, Madonna ain't our cup of tea but today I feel happy for her long suffering fans. Wear your exclusive title now with ignominy Paul.

How about U2? Do they play Australia? They played New Mexico in 1987 and never came back. Paul played New Mexico in 1993 and never came back. I'm starting to get a complex here!!
-
U2 have been here about 6 or 7 tours since 84, most recently 2010.
-
Heard some of the cheaper Madonna tickets are around $400 AUD One day Paul will come and conquer Australia before his voice gives way and retires Heres hoping :
-
Tom Petty fans have waited longer but he and Paul would be the two legends that haven't been to Australia for several decades
-
I read Madonna tix were ranged from $99...through to VIP.
-
Paul, rest up mate and save some good rockin for Australia, I will guarantee you we will make some noise when you return, on this forum, over social media and on the charts!
-
No tour dates announced as yet.....maybe he is saving up for the Australian summer. What am I saying, of course he isnt.
-
He's been telling people (when asked) that he's planning to come, of course all we really get from him is the middle finger.
-
Dear Paul, Thank you for your note. There is no change in the position to tour Australia. But rest assured we will keep working on this to hopefully make it possible one day. Kind regards, Barrie Sums it up I guess - just received from Barrie Marshall. Looks like I have to make travel plans again...
-
Sad. I got a similar message back a while back too - knew I would but figure it's good to keep in the ears of these guys.
-
Old Badger and Marshall Arts. More non-commital spin... Been spinning that garbage literally for MANY YEARS to any Aussie who asks. "We will keep working on it." "If we can find a suitable window in Paul's diary." "Paul would love to come back." I don't like being bullsh*tted to.

It has now been well over 20 years since Paul graced us with his presence. Like many other fans, I'm still perplexed about the 'postponed' 2002 shows. Postponed. For 13 years. And counting. This of course would be understandable, somewhat, if Paul didn't perform concerts since that time. But, he has managed to visit every other major touring market in the world- many more than once. I do not understand the continued neglect. Is it just about money? Is it some personal grudge? The patient, loyal Australian fans deserve more than this. To put things in perspective, the Rolling Stones (surely Paul's only serious rival, touring wise) have toured Australia FOUR times since Paul was last here (1995, 2003, 2006, 2014). Even in 2014, when Mick Jagger's girlfriend died under tragic circumstances, the Stones postponed- and made up the dates, unlike Paul!! Within weeks of the death, rescheduled dates were announced. Then, when they came back Jagger made a point of apologising at each and every show for the disruption the postponement caused fans, and thanked all for their patience (which is something he definitely didn't need to do). Australians have enthusiastically supported many major acts who have toured downunder in recent years (U2, Eagles, Springsteen, Foo Fighters, The Who, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake, Fleetwood Mac and countless others). We even got a Ringo solo tour- something I never thought we would see. It's frankly absurd that he hasn't come down here. I'm happy for the rest of the fans in other countries who get to see him- I really am. I just wish we would get our long overdue turn. Meanwhile, when is he touring South America again? :

All excellent points, though I would argue that U2 can rival Paul on the touring end of things.
