what do you think of Dogs

Fool...how is he doing? I bet he'll be happy when the weekend comes.
-
My dog seems to be doing very well... I take the cone off as much as possible when he is in the same room. He does not go after the staples very much at all but I have to be careful not to get too casual about it. He has gone up and down some stairs and even though he did okay ... I cringe because I don't want to risk re-injury. When he did go downstairs it was a freak thing ... He did so as I put up a pet gate he was down the stairs when I turned. Therapy technique changes this week From icing it .. To moist warm heat pre Exercise and therapy. He is walking on his leg for a short time I know when it is too much ... Because he will pull the leg up and walk limp or he just lays down on the spot. Over all he is doing good.

^ aww poor baby. I hope he feels better soon. He takes the therapy ok? My new guy is too young & playful to stand for that. He'd be biting at me & the cloth every single time that I would try.

So I found out today that my dog does not like tin foil. And he bayed for 5 minutes at the neighbor's white statue that is in the backyard. : I guess that's better than the other day he was baying at a rototiller that was just sitting there.

Fool, hope your dog is completely recovered soon. Our Yorkies don't like to go out in the rain (& it poured all day yesterday), even wearing their raincoats. Rain doesn't phase our Aussie at all.

The_Fool, I have kept your dog in my thoughts and prayers for recovery. On my end, Rocketman is at the vet being boarded. It is wayyyy too hot where I am living. But he is only a few miles away and I visit him everyday. ( at first be thought I had abandoned him and he screamed for me! I will never forget the sound!)While he was boarded the tumor That had not been attended to completion ruptured, putting him in ICU. He is out now and they have him all bandaged up. He is doing well and the tumor is draining and they are so good there. He has surgery scheduled for next week as if the tumor doesn't come off he will die. Also he has one on his anal area. Seems the testosterone from not being neutered has fed the anal tumor and they need to remove both tumors and neuter him. Still don't know if cancerous or not. I pray be lives, but I hope he is not mad at me for neutering him. He has never procreated so I was not irresponsible in creating puppies. All in all things I am sure will be okay. Love 2 all!

I will keep Rocketman in my thoughts & prayers. I hope he, along with Fool's dog will recover 100%.

^^Thank you. And please give Willy and all other animals my love! Hang in there The_Fool.

Unfortunately, we've got a dog hater in the family. Our Aussie met him for the 1st time yesterday & growled & snarled at the twit the whole time.

Rocketman has been in vet for 8 days now. He had to be boarded after my Mom fell. Then days later his tumor ruptured and he was in ICU. He had surgery yesterday and they only got the major tumor as they didn't want to keep him under too long. I am going to visit him today and have him moved to another place as he has a drain In his breast, which is where the big tumor was...it is so hot I am moving north and will move him with me. The doctor says he has to have more surgery for the other Tumors later. Won't know if he has cancer until a week or two. Thank you all for the prayers.

so I take Max to a retirement home for his second test to become a therapy dog. this one lady tells me a story about her husband being in the hospital and him wanting to see their dog and how she managed to get the dog in. then she told me the same story again...and again....and again...and again....bless her heart. but she otherwise seemed to have all her wits about her.

Our Aussie is terrified of thunder & shivers & trembles. Has anyone tried a thunder shirt on their dog & do they work?

A wonderful thing to do! It has to be so rewarding for you and Max and the residents. So kind. Oobu: glad Willy is gaining weight! Rocketman, I just visited him and he was so full of energy! The girl that walks the dogs said he wanted to stay out and "help" her. He had a mastectomy, and his stitches are still in and the drain is removed. Don't know about the cancer or not yet. But I am just happy he is okay for now. Can't bring him home till I find a new home, but he likes it there and he is well taken care of. Yay!

Kittay...so glad to hear Rocketman is feeling good! Good enough to want to stay out. Talking about nursing homes...my dog before Lucy was Sadie & we took her to see my Mom quite often. All the people there loved her. It is amazing how much joy a dog can bring them. Or anyone. I've seen a thundershirt on one dog I met at the park. Those people said it helped their lab.

Update: Rocketman is still at the vet, now 16 days. The doctor just called me as I am with my Mom at doctors office. She said Rocketman has the most aggressive kind of squamous cell carcinoma. They will have to take off the two other tumors, but she said right now he is happy and feeling great. But there is nothing they can do to stop the cancer as it will likely come back. I guess I will try to make him comfortable and happy the time he has left.
