Any news or rumours about new album?

He's probably lost his recording voice. At a certain age, things just don't work anymore. I don't see another regular pop/rock album again.
I would say precisely the opposite. He may be approaching the point where sounding decent live is too hit-and-miss a proposition to keep touring, but in the studio you have much more control. Not only can you just record vocals on good vocal days, much can be done in production to make a so-so voice sound good (if that weren't the case, Christopher Cross would never have had a recording career). Sometimes he's chosen to let himself sound old and warn (e.g. "Early Days"), but he doesn't have to. I think he's still got a couple more albums in him if he's so inclined. That said, one can't help but be aware that the clock keeps ticking.

I'm his biggest fan. He's still the greatest singer I've ever witnessed. No one has a more beautiful, versatile voice - but that part of his career is over. He's exercising the last restraints of his voice to make the most money he can by concerts before it's totally gone. Using vocal trickery in the studio is unacceptable to me - anathema. That would be like watching the record holder of the hundred yard dash sprinting on crutches. Such a natural beautiful voice shouldn't hide behind anything. Except on experimental stuff, he never did that. Music production usually calls for technical imaging and most songs can benefit from that, but photo-shopping Paul McCartney's voice is going too far. Leave that for the less talented. Anyway, I can hear him struggling on the last album. One thing he'll always have though is his extraordinary composing skills. As long as his mind is good, he'll be a monster at that, as always. ---- Having said that, I hope I'm wrong. But I don't think I am. Just something I have to face.

Paul McCartney is not going to let those Kanye/Rihanna collabs be his swan song. They are, most likely, a calculated springboard to a renewed commercial relevance for him. And I'd get on it ASAP if I were Macca.
-
I predict he will release a new album after he records new songs. I also predict that it will get dark after the sun goes down. And Christopher Cross has a beautiful voice.
-
Its rumoured that about eight songs have been recorded for what is supposed to be a back to basics album. But its also been said that the album is in its very early stages, and that these eight songs could well be re-made at a later date. I don't think we'll get a new album until the end of next year at the earliest. In reality its more likely to be 2017.
-
What he did with Kanye West was okay, "FourFiveSeconds" is hardly an embarrassment in his discography and he hasn't worked with hip hop artists before but I can't say I long for a McCartney album with contemporary top ten guest artists. I would rather that he is musically interesting than commercially relevant. I couldn't care less how the records sells. But who knows... I wouldn't mind a back to basic 'jamming with the band album'.

McCartney III for 2020 is what I am hoping for In the meantime I would like him to take it easy spend time with the family. Maybe think about putting his affairs in order , I wonder if he's done that ?

I think the idea of multiple producers worked well in bringing out the various types of songs, from Paul. Of course, I especially liked the Fireman meets Paul McCartney songs the best!

You clearly have not heard him live. His voice is so thin and flimsy it's almost not there. The beautiful sound you hear on his records is studio trickery.

He has already used vocal trickery. Heck, John Lennon used vocal affects as far back as the Beatles days. Anyway, I highly doubt he has made his last album.
-
I don't think experimenting with vocal effects is the same as trying to hide a failing voice. He's used his voice at its most frail, like in "Early Days", so it's not like he gives a crap what anybody thinks. And I like that. I think Brian Wilson's albums in recent years are more affected by use of autotune than McCartney's. Can't say I like the synthetic sound a whole lot but I like his music (and voice) so i just have to live with it, if I am going to play his records.

Doesn't that come up every time there's a new rumor about a new album?

What trickery is he using in these concerts?

What Became of the HARD Rock album a few years back??
-
I'd like Paul to make a McCartney 3 album at home, back to basics recording methods - recording all the instruments himself, and a rough guide vocal. Then, take the instrumentals into a studio and work with a vocal producer to finish off the album. There is so much can be done in the studio, to perfect vocals, even to the extent of recording one syllable at a time in order to get the perfect vocal take (Dusty Springfield recorded this way when working with Pet Shop Boys). No matter how the vocals are recorded, it's still Paul's voice and that's one of the greatest voices in popular music.

Of course he has! He has trust funds set up for all his children and grandchildren and a simple pre-nup with Nancy that says that she can't touch any of that money if they divorce. This was in the press when they got married in 2011.
-
I'm mostly open to whatever he does but I wouldn't have minded a real band album. McCartney's studio albums the last ten years have been quite so produced. He's had this steady band for fourteen years or something, it's about time that they make a record together, and not just using them as session musicians. I think at least it could have been exciting.

The first clip sure looks and sounds lip-synched to me. In the others, if you can't tell the difference between this and his studio-enhanced voice, I can't help you. But back to the point, I think Paul will record for a while longer, letting the age in his voice show when appropriate and disguising it when he feels he needs to. But barring something unforeseen, there's no reason he shouldn't keep recording for a while, even if he can't always pull it out of the hat live.

Well, he'd better hurry. Paul is now the very same age his dad was when he died - 73.

Julian was not shot when he was 40, like his father, so it may be he has a chance. But don't quote me on it, I'm not a 'like father, like son' expert.
