Do you guys think that the very positive responses to "Temporary Secretary" might inspire Macca to dig deeper into his solo catalog? I can live with Beatles and Wings, but it's about time that we get more solo gems.
From your mouth to Paul's ears!

One thing is what we want and other thing is Macca going Mad!I was the one who paid to hear"take it away","Beware my love"(i was born in 1972 and never see Wings live!)"The world tonight"and even"Getting closer" love it and "Goodnight tonight" a fave of mine but i am not mad and i understand why he don´t do many changes!90% of the people who are going to his concert are Beatles fans not Macca fans like me! he can´t give to them music to made them furious to say"give me my Money back i don´t know that music!"

I'm afraid he will keep on mentioning moments like this in interviews as usual, but will never act like it. "You know, when I'm going to see the Stones..."

I hope someone close enough to Paul will be able to convince him to do just that. However, I realize it's more likely we will get 6-10 "new" Beatles & Wings songs. I'm actually fine with that, as I would love to hear stuff like: Goodnight Tonight Helen Wheels Getting Closer Silly Love Songs (with the Rickenbacker bass, if possible) Big Barn Bed (just like the LP track, not the ukelele version done at soundchecks)

And if this were 1989 thru this most recent tour, he would have a point. But after all these years and numerous tours, I can't imagine that there's a mass number of people who have yet to experience a McCartney show. It's time to go big or go home.

I would welcome all of those.

He's close to finished.

It's all besides the point anyway, since he doesn't do his biggest solo hits and even major Beatles classics like 'Penny Lane', 'For No One', 'Here, There & Everywhere'. You hear no one about that. Just like no one was enjoying the show less when 'Lady Madonna' was dropped for a tour and a half or when 'Get Back' was ditched. And he has always done new material (so automatically lesser known works) on tour, and no one was complaining about that either. He serves the crowd who only comes for the hits just fine. He can shake it up, drop all the well-worn parts, still do the majority of the staples, and the response will be just the same. With the huge difference his solo fans will then love the show again as well.

"He can shake it up, drop all the well-worn parts, still do the majority of the staples, and the response will be just the same. Awhile ago I posted in this thread that he could drop the Beatle songs from 25 to 20 and still give the first timers almost two hours of hits. Add a 3-4 of Wings songs (BOTR, Jet etc) that even first timers know and that is 66% of his show. BTW - the 20 Beatle songs is more than lots of performers do in entire concert. All I have ever asked is that he give us solo fans something to look forward to in his shows. If Mr. McCartney has a new record/CD, that usually means he will do 3-4 songs from that record/CD. That leaves approx 8 songs left in a 36 song concert. I beg of him to do solo songs like "Take It Away","Dance Til Were High", "Little Willow" etc that he has never done live or songs like "My Brave Face" that he has not done in 25 years. Yes, I know it will not happen. Mr. McCartney will "shake" it up by adding some Beatle songs that he has not done yet or maybe some other Wings song. No offense but I am even getting tired of Wings songs especially from BOTR.

Nothing wrong with Wings songs - other than he doesn't dust off enough of them. I will say Let Me Roll It needs to be binned.

God, yes. :

Yes! It's a perfectly fine song, but I don't get why it's been in nearly every set list since the dawn of time, particularly when there are Top 10 Wings and solo hits he's never played. Hell, I think I'd even rather hear "Spies Like Us."

You were on a roll there Bruce until that last statement! All credibility is now lost!!

YES!! It is a good song but has been played to death live.

"Nothing wrong with Wings songs - other than he doesn't dust off enough of them." True but at least he has covered that part of his career while his solo career has been neglected for the most part.

While there have been some great solo surprises over the years, "Temporary Secretary" is the only one that was not a charity event one-off: -"Great Day" (a 2003 mine-field charity gig) -"Cosmically Conscious" (a 2009 David Lynch charity gig) -"Looking For Changes" (2015 PeTA event)

Give me "Spies Like Us" everyday. A fun, fast, silly song that perfectly fit the movie, which is now a semi-cult classic. Also reached #7 in the US with "My Carnival", another great little tune. Would definitely work live; Abe would have a blast banging away.

IMO - One and done don't count - lol. My goodness, it seems it has to be a special event to actual explore his solo catalog for the most part - what a shame !!
