what do you think of Dogs

I will post a photo of her later and you will see what a beauty she is. I read about them and she fit the Catahoula Cur descriptions perfectly. Rocketman is a highly intelligent German Shepard, but she was highly intelligent in a different way. And they worked together in unison. It was perfect Harmony here. I bet Willy fell in Love!️

I'd like to be able to see Willy with her outside the store setting. They really did look nice together. Did your Catahoula look like this? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AN7XEl-HQkQ/UY05taZ6zoI/AAAAAAAAAq8/j1uDMr3EBnE/s1600/catahoula-leopard-dog-2.jpg

So, I had one of the worst moments of my life today. I thought Willy was dying. We were all in the van & he upchucked all of his breakfast & then I turn around again & he is just laying there, breathing, but not moving at all. We stopped & opened the back doors & he did not move. At all. His eyes were open but nothing. We sped to the vet & in the 10 minutes it took us to get there he woke up. So we went into the vet to see what he thought & he says maybe Will had a epileptic seizure. oh man. So now I am just keeping watch to see if it will happen again. He seems ok but a little slower...maybe just tired from this all. sigh...I know I have a splitting headache! Anyone have any experiences like this?
Hi, so sorry to hear about Willy's episode. A few years back, a family member had a very similar situation with her dog. This type of episode happened three times before the veterinarian checked her dog's heart. The dog, about three years old, had cardiac arrhythmia (heartbeat abnormality) which caused this type of episode including sudden onset of vomiting, fainting, and prolonged loss of consciousness. The dog subsequently had a pacemaker implanted and thankfully all was resolved. Thought I would mention this in the event you experience a repeat of the episode. Hope all remains well with Willy! Anita

So sorry to hear about Willy. I hope he continues to do well. There's nothing more scary than not knowing what's wrong & then finding out what's going on.

Oh Goodness! That sounds EXACTLY like what happened to Will. Thanks so much for alerting me to this. The vet did actually check his heart but by the time we got there, Willy was ok. Now I'm gonna have to sit around with him (Willy not the vet..haha) & try to see if I can detect his heartbeat. Did the dog's 3 episodes happen closely together?

As it has been a few years back and not my dog, I could not quite recall the timeline and particulars, so just gave the family member a call. She said all three episodes occurred within a six-month period which prompted her to demand a thorough examination including an EKG which revealed the heart issue. The vet had listened to the dog's heart during the first two visits, but indicated that irregular heartbeats are common in dogs and not necessarily a serious condition, although as it turned out, the condition was serious in her dog's case. I do not wish to scare you, I just wanted to give you a heads-up in the event of a repeat episode. Sometimes we have to figure out what is wrong with us whilst waiting for the doctor to do so. Fingers crossed for no repeat episodes! Anita

No, I know that you just wanted to make me aware of what it may be. Thanks so much for calling your family member to find out the particulars. I so appreciate it. It really was a scary time & now I know what it may have been. Thanks again.

Gosh, oobu. So sorry to hear that Willy got sick. Sending good thoughts for his healing. On another note, Cupcake and Coco tied for 5th place (out of six places) in a schnauzer contest I told them they tied for first place in this house

You're welcome and best wishes for Willy! No doubt a scary time, always the worst when our children and pets are sick! Anita

Thanks. How great about C&C. What kind of contest were they in? Willy made it to 2 different coonhound calendars where they were accepting pics from around the world.

Totally true.

Our kid is incredible! It finally stopped snowing late last nite & even tho' he had already changed to his pj's, our kid put his boots & winter gear on, managed to get the back door open & went out shoveled a path near the back door so our dogs could go out.

Our Aussie was being very stubborn today. While my guys were out shoveling snow, I was trying to take a photo of him. I tried bribing him with a treat & he kept looking down, wouldn't sit until I told him he wasn't getting anything unless he cooperated. Then he smiled at me.

Great news about Willie being in two different calendars!!! Wow! Thanks oobu and Kittay. All of the dogs tied for a place, first through sixth. Well, first, second, and third place just had one winner each. So, they really tied with two other dogs for next to last place, but I don't tell them that. Naaaaaaaa. They are winners at our house. It was a schnauzer forum and everyone who voted got three votes. Most people voting entered their schnauzers in it, I think. Not a great deal of traffic, but a very good group of people.
