I noticed that the number of PREMIUM seats has expanded for this leg of the tour. The $655 Hot Sound Package seats go well into row H (or beyond) on the floor and into the first several rows in the lower bowl. It's a shame to be anywhere within the first 10 rows now you have to shell out a car payment or half a month's rent. :

But you're seeing a Beatle, for Chrissakes.

Yeah yeah yeah! A 73 year old Beatle! I am so glad I saw Paul in 1993 for $35!!

I think the $655 VIP Gold Seats have gone to at least r0w 10 for a while now. I remember when I was looking into getting tickets for the DC show back in 2013 (I got Gold that year and was in 7th row) reading that Gold went to 10th row and possibly higher and then the Silver VIP seats are in the lower bowls.

I have always been within the first 5 rows and I have never had to pay more than the standard $250 ticket. (With the exception of nosebleed back in 1990).

How and when did you get first 5 rows for $250?!!

Most recently, I was in row 4 center in Columbia. Bought the ticket from the arena website. In Cincinnati, Washington DC, and Greensboro I was in row 2, 2 and 3 and bought the tickets during the presale. I have never spent more than the standard price.

These VIP/premium seating packages have unfortunately become the norm in the concert business these days, so ticket pricing for this tour and recent prior tours where it seems more and more seats are dedicated to various levels of premium pricing is simply following what has become the standard. As noted above here, there is always a chance to bag excellent seats if you are willing to hold back and roll the dice. If the packages fail to sell out, seats reserved for same will sometimes be sold at floor prices a few days before the show. I've had seats in the first 10 rows at various concerts as well as seats in rows 2 and 3 for McCartney shows over the years when I purchased tickets just prior to the date of the shows. Now when a concert is a very hot ticket, you can forget it. Not going to happen. Its far more likely with stadium shows although it can happen with arena shows too. But getting one of these prime seats in this manner is really a case of chance, and any reliance on the fact that this will happen with any given show may very well leave you outside the gates.

Like I said in another thread for the Michigan shows I've been going to since 2002 the price points have been $49, $69 $99 $125 $250 (excluding whatever 'sound package' there was). I've usually gone after the second tier price because that will get ya lower bowl in the corner. However at the Joe Louis Arena show the price points are $49 $69 $99 $169 $250- this effectively adds another tier and prices out people from almost spending almost $200 (after fees) to be in the lower level. I went after the $99 in the presale and was surprised to see there were $169 seats in the first few rows of the upper level. Considering the Joe is a smaller venue than the Palace of Auburn Hills and Comerica Park I opted for 'cheaper seats' with a good view. After seeing him so many times I would have been happy to have scored the $49 seats.

I just received my VIP tix for Columbus and see that the face value is $500 so perhaps this is a new price level for the first few floor rows. It will be interesting to see if remaining unsold seats eventually go on sale at that price.
-
WOW! I have almost sold a kidney to be able to see the show within the first 10 rows. I guess my hubby and I haven't been good at buying good afford tickets! It's still a mystery to this day ... Good for you all!

All the Hot Sound Package tickets (2 concerts) that I got said $500 on the ticket even though I paid $1500 for the whole deal with soundcheck, etc. If not all these sell, I think the price reverts to whatever a Gold VIP ticket costs (or maybe less!) Anybody know for sure?

I see now that my previous soundcheck tickets (Memphis) also say $500. I was able to get row 5 in Columbia a few days before the concert for $250 but I don't know of they were ever offered before as VIP.

They probably were originally Gold VIP or Hot Sound Package. Did you only buy one ticket? That's the best way to get a good seat just before the concert. (if you don't want to pay for soundcheck, etc.)

No, I bought two but one time I bought a single floor seat the day before the show.

Out of curiosity I was just looking at all of the shows in Germany that went on sale today. Hot sound vip with soundcheck are under $700 US for each of those shows, but in the US and Canada we pay $1500. Almost worth it to travel to Germany for a show! haha

What are the ranges for the Non-Premium, Non-VIP seats? Looking at upper levels, not floor. I'm not looking for any specific venue, just trying to get an idea so I can start saving for if/when he announces the East Coast dates. Thanks!
