Pinkpop, The Netherlands - Sunday 12 June - ARCHIVE
-
'Queenie Eye' skipped, straight into 'New'.
-
The director of the public channel broadcast is already doing damage control on social media. Mentions how the 1,5 song they were allowed to broadcast were from the very early start, and that McCartney needs a few songs to warm up. 'The Fool on the Hill' skipped.
-
That's strange, from the past audience reactions, I would think he would have skipped NEW and done Queenie Eye!!!!! BUT, its his show, he can do what he wants Not too many people here talking. Its 2 p.m. where I live, so this is very enjoyable to follow
-
I think at this stage he should just say no to all broadcasts. I agree that my perception is that Queenie Eye usually goes down better than New.

In 'In Spite Of All The Danger' his voice is sounding better than at the start of the concert.
-
'FourFiveSeconds'. And FourZero minutes left on the schedule, 55 minutes left until curfew, 15 songs left on the regular setlist.
-
I'm surprised that "Save Us" & "Queenie Eye" still stuck in the main set this long..

nobodytoldme can you help with translating these Tweets? Ik heb het idee dat Paul's stem op knappen staat... #PP16 Paul McCartney doet stemoefeningen met het publiek. Z'n stem wordt met het nummer slechter. #pp16 #L1

Do you really wanna...? "I've got the feeling Paul's voice is about to burst" "Paul McCartney is doing vocal practices with the audience. His voice is getting worse by song" F--- em all, but I said over here from the moment the rumours about Pinkpop started popping up that this would be the outcome.

Thanks...but oh dear, and that person is at the gig I think! The automatic translator was really struggling with the Tweets, I thought the second one was saying that his voice was getting better! What about this one? Mag ik zeggen dat @PaulMcCartney een jaartje te lang doorgaat? #pp16 #graatpp37 af en toe ronduit vals..

Am I allowed to say Paul McCartney is going on for one year too many?* At times simply off-key... *Dutch expression, meaning what you think it means Yes, after the TV broadcast wave all current Tweets are live on the scene. But what do they know, I read a few comments about it being "boring" as well. Those people were probably euphoric about Rammstein a night earlier because of fireworks and make-up. No songs skipped after 'The Fool' so far. And McCartney won't stay long afterl "see you next time!" 01:00am London time he will be home, haha:
-
Thanks...I'll stop with the requests for translations now! Seems the Twitter translator struggles with Dutch much more than Spanish and French. I hate to see Paul getting a rough time on social media.
-
Regarding Springsteen: booker Mojo already said before McCartney hit the stage that Springsteen won't arrive in The Netherlands until Tuesday, and there is not a single source who truly spotted him backstage. And just when the reactions from the field were getting positive with the upbeat hit-hit-hit block he arrived at now, the television broadcast showed the 1,5 minute of footage again.

This Tweets are from people that are not Pauls' fans. His faithful fans know he can do better. Also: Dutch people are known for being honest and maybe rude on Twitter. ops:

I agree. Let me be clear: above is why I feared for this, not because I thought McCartney wasn't up to par. Parels voor de zwijnen. (Not counting the mass on the field who is having a tremendous time!)
-
Paul won't know or care what they say, will he!!!
-
He's getting an absolute hammering, I've never seen it like this during a gig. I said this might happen when the tour hit Europe. I wonder how the official media reviews will handle it?
