How about "Hello!" for a start?
-
Hello is "hallo" in Dutch! Not too difficult, is it? How do you say hello in Polish?
-
Hello Czesc
-
Well, "czesc" then, Pawel! (I'm not going to ask how that is pronounced!

No problem, there you go: czesc tsch-esh-ch Here's a classic Polish tongue twister (kids practise this at early ages ) "W Szczebrzeszynie chrzaszcz brzmi w trzcinie, a Szczebrzeszyn z tego slynie."

OMG!!!!!!!!!! How can you EVER pronounce such a thing? what does it mean actually?
-
How do you say I Love You in your language?
-
IK HOU VAN JOU or IK ZIE JE GRAAG
-
vlivantje:
IK HOU VAN JOU or IK ZIE JE GRAAG
(what's the difference between the two?) In Polish: KOCHAM CIE ( ~ co-ham tschye)

They're practically the same, although the latter is used more frequently in colloquial language!

Take no offence, but the first one looks like some Chinese, and the second one doesn't look very romantic. What do they sound like?

Trust me, the first one isn't like Chinese at all! (in Chinese, I LOVE YOU is "wo ai ni", btw ;)) This is how they write it (read from top to bottom) ) It's actually very difficult to explain how the two Dutch ones sound like! I must think about it how I should best try to write it down with English pronounciation, or something like that...

I never knew Dutch and Chinese had so much in common I'd love to hear you say that! No. no, no, ops: it's not what you think Now, if I wanted to say "I love Paul", how do I sday that, which is the word that changes?
-
Pawel:

In "Ik hou van jou" it's the "jou" that changes. I love Paul is "ik hou van Paul". And in "ik zie je graag", the "je" becomes Paul "ik zie Paul graag"
-

'Ik zie Paul graag' ! What about 'Paul loves me'? Paul zie Ik graag :

No, it changes a little bit. Then it is "Paul ziet mij graag. Oh, and welcome to Europe, Pawel!
