Those are such beautiful photos !!

If you've never been on the Mediterranean Sea, you should go as soon as possible. It doesn't matter which country. Maybe not Libya.

Took a 15 day cruise with my aunt. We went to Mykonos, Santorini, Monaco, Genoa, Sicily ( Mt Etna and Taormina) It was beautiful!! Wish we could have gone to more places!

This is my favorite photo this week, it's of Mauna Kea. Hope to get up there, you can see the curvature of the Earth

That's remarkable. Anytime you can see a spiral arm is a good day.

I'm torn when it comes to cruises. I like having a hotel on water that goes places, but 8 hours in port just isn't enough time to learn anything. I can technically say I've been to Vietnam because I went there on a cruise, but in my mind, I've never been there.

I have 42 days a year to see the world, sometimes the ship will stay in a port for two days. I would never exchange my two days in St. Petersburg Russia for anything, for example....The Hermitage, Catherine's Palace dinner on a beautiful river, a local flea market, our bus tour all around St. Petersburg, the bridges, canals, the many sights, the black lacquer boxes I purchased in my dads name as he never got to see one, and little Faberge Egg necklace. I packed a lot into those two days, and hope to get back, of course. There are so many one day memories, that were filled with such joy for me, having set sight on the things I've always longed to see...the Kon Tiki Boat that I'd read about when I was 8 yrs old in Norway!! I managed to squeeze in the Viking museum too, taking a hop on hop off bus that goes by so many sights. You can see quite a lot in one day if you plan things in advance and go on your own, instead of a cruise excursion. Hit the ground running. Of course if you have the time and money then longer trips are better!!! However, if your plans are to see the world, and you only have 42 days a year, sometimes a cruise is a good option for an initial foray, and maybe your only affordable chance to see things that must be seen. For paintings alone, that must be seen, I need lots and lots of time!!! I have you to thank, if I recall, on Rembrandts home!!! Dank Je!!! http://www.free-attraction-reviews.com/wp-content/themes/freeattractionreviews/images/heros/rembrandt-house-1.jpg http://www.amsterdam.info/photos/content/presentation/1390672997-amsterdam-museum-rembrandt-b.jpg

The longest I've ever stayed in port was 10 hours. That's just not enough time. Even 2 days isn't enough, but it's a lot better than nothing. Rembrandthuis is a good example. I've never been to Amsterdam on a cruise, but I bet if I did, I'd spend most of those few hours around Museumplein and the park. I'm all for research & planning. I always know as much as I can about the neighborhood around my hotel and the transportation options in the city, but you have to wander around. I would have never gone to Waterlooplein if I hadn't wandered around. I can't imagine Paris in 8 hours. But the cruise part itself is great. I actually liked days at sea more than days in port. These cruise ships are cities unto themselves. I'm very lucky that I have more than 42 days to look around. I'm not sure how I'd pick where to go.

You are very lucky if you have more than 42 days and you love2travel!! I spent a week in Holland, HAVE to go back, as it's a possible place to move to. Lucky for me, that trip was with my one friend who also loves to travel. He also loves to plan, which was was a joy for me to be with someone who loves art, history and architecture and planned the whole trip!! He didn't want to go see Paul, who was there that week...so that was a bummer!! Went to Waterlooplein near the ice bar. Holland is amazing!!! Paris is another great city, well France is great also. Have wanted to spend 6 months in France, since I can remember!!! Have been to Paris for a week and then some day trips. The French Riviera on a cruise, going to see the cave paintings SOON I hope!!! Another bucket list must...Biarritz, Versailles, Mont Saint Michele, Giverney, Musee Renior, Magritte Museum, Brussels, Bruge, Antwerp, Ghent, balloon ride over the Loire valley, Riverboat cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, Croatia, the Matterhorn, all of Italy again....Barcelona, Tenerife, Bali. Easter Island, Machu Pichuu, Galapagos...these are the first things that came to mind... I think about this all the time However, I've do think I've done pretty good for an average person 28 countries and counting... By myself a lot because no one else loves to travel!!! I have thousands of photos of it all, so I can always visit in my memories...

That's a pretty long list. I can't make a list of places I want to go. There aren't enough hours in the day. My master plan is to just roll with it. If I have some vacation time coming up, I can never decide if I want to go somewhere I've already been or explore somewhere new. Some of the best trips I've ever taken were to places I wasn't even thinking about a month before.

Last minute trips are the best!! There aren't enough hours in the day!! That's a very short list for me. The best was when I worked for the airlines and decided where to go, while at the airport with my friends! Back then we always had free upgrades and $25 luxury hotels and cars!!! Those were fun times. Now frequent fliers bump airline employees. Flying up front, tho very cramped was the best fun ever... The wild blue yonder... â¤ï¸ð???

Is that the jump seat? That would be a long flight. But the price is right. I've been flying business class lately, so I'm getting used to stretching out and being comfortable. It's getting harder and harder to fly economy. I think a 14 hour jump seat flight would kill me.

My longest jumpseat was only 5 hours... Longer than that I would fly in the back, no wait, I was flying from Quito once and had to jumpseat from there to keep from getting bumped! Time flies when you jumpseat, the pilots are usually talkative guys. I do miss the first class upgrades from the airline tho, the seats are getting tighter in economy!! In the skies, a beautiful world... The landing up front!!! Woo Hooooo
When I fly, I always have a window seat!!! -
The way they treat people in economy is ridiculous, especially when you compare it with business or first class. It's all the same plane going to the same place, but it's like a celebrity getting a restaurant reservation versus a homeless person.
-
Virgin Atlantic still has pretty great flight attendants in Economy, when I was an airline employee I had some really memorable flights in First Class to South America!

Glad Sir Paul turned us onto Tiepolo. http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/tiep/hd_tiep.htm Love the amazing paintings. In a way, of course not as genius but the theme of mythology and the blue, Reminds me of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. God, when I went there I didn't want to leave! The sky ceilings and I found Poseidon . I didn't buy anything. But loved to just sit there and look at the ceiling.

They have a room in the Metropolitan Museum, of his paintings with gold framing. Was wondering if they were on the ceilings of a grand palace in Venice at one time...
