Status Quo slammed Sir Paul's behavious at Live 8 concert
-
The only reason I remember them was from watching Live Aid with a bunch of friends and everybody's laughing at them going...:"WHO ARE THESE FOOLS"???? Put it down to sour grapes, mates!

All the way from Sinatra to Elvis from the 60's,70's, 80's,90's, 2000''s they all had to bow down. It just the way it is. There is only one true rock legend alive at this time that anyone gives a shit about. It Paul McCartney. He a movie stars movie star

I've never heard of Status Quo...but in my life experience, status quo has not been my friend. Anybody else see the irony in this situation? Status Quo is slamming Paul McCartney who was never one to fit into a set of rules in the first place.
-
neither have I but if I had it wouldn't change anything. IF you going to pick a act to comment on don't pick the guy who band unseated Elvis and Sinatra .
-
what the hell is status quo? is it a band or a manufacturing company?

Status Quo were a 1960's Blues / Hard Rock Band. I never really liked them, but I wouldn't call their music down. Definitely not of the calibre of The Beatles, or of Paul, who is critically acclaimed to be the musical virtuoso of The Beatles. I happen to agree with that assessment. I remember an argument I had the misfortune to witness. A musicologist was discussing the music scene in the early 1980's and he identified Paul McCartney as one of Rock's leading Bassists; well, some guy who knew nothing of what he was talking about took exception to this comment. He claimed that Paul was a hack who happened to be in The Beatles, and he named a bunch of current musicians who he thought were more accomplished. Well the musicologist knew better, but this guy swore and berated and belittled, and walked away smug in his ignorance, figuring he had won the argument. I can't remember any of those musicians that twit named. The guy just had a Hate On for McCartney because of Paul's success. Sometimes, it's better to just say nothing and let the facts speak for themselves. So what if he was hogging the Limelight -- he's Paul McCartney.

LOL - I once was the 'victim' of a tyrade where this guy swore Paul was such a poor bass player, he needed to call on more 'accomplished' players when recording more difficult bass driven songs, such as Silly Love Songs Aside from the obvious in that he just doesn't know what he's talking about, I have 2 points in hindsight for that poor dumb sucker: 1) Did he not see any of the footage from Rock Show where he played bass on that song flawlessly while singing away and dancing around stage? And 2) This was somepoint before Broadstreet and therefore, he didn't even have the excuse of being mislead by the remake of Silly Love Songs with a bass player other than Paul...So where the hell did this guy get his idea from? Also, the guy you heard wasn't from Boston, was he? It sounds almost like the guy I'm referring to.
