Bar's open, drinks for everyone!!!

Just watching the news now. How desperatley sad. I cannot believe there are armed looters taking advantage of this appalling situation. I simply cannot believe it.
-
I was feeling the same way- I have this big house with me and the cats- I wish I lived closer and could do more- I am doing what I can...I guess collecting money is the best thing to do- I am broken hearted over the whole thing- dead Americans lying in the road-young children crying with no food or shelter- the hospital being surrounded by armed guards...people still trapped- hopefully things will improve tomorrow with more supplies and troops coming in- We all need to gather our resourses and hearts for these people- most of them tried to go to safely from the storm just to get trapped- for the gulf to come over a mile inland in some cases is incredible- If you have spent any time at the beach, you KNOW how much stuff is built in the swatch of land!! Just stupifying to imagine. I wonder if Paul will be involved in the concert on MSNBC tomorrow night?? I read that Fats Domino and his family are missing....and I think Luther Vandross has 3 neices missing, too- there are alot of people unacounted for still. non

Hi Kids! Just wanted to report in on my coin drive- last night people were not only putting all of their change in the containers- they were dropping in $5, $10 and $20 bills- It made me cry!!! Many said it was the first place they had seen to give money- So, if you are out and about, ask the businesses to set up a place for people to give- They will!! And it is for US- Just watching the convoys arriving in New Orleans finally! YEA!!! And thanks to all of those who are there and helping- and to those out here who are doing what they can! Coffee is on- and fresh made donuts!! non

thats so great (((NON))))) my brother and I both went last night after I got off of work and donated blood. This weekend when we go home.. we need to go through my neices old clothes... i got an email from my uncle yesterday saying they needed clothes Despite fear of being redundant, I am going to include my previous message in this. You had received this because Jeff and/or Liz Quintero-Phillips know you, and cherish the relationship we have with you. I don't ask for help lightly, nor do I require it of you to maintain any sort of relationship. Katrina has harmed a lot of people, and disrupted many people's lives. If you didn't before, you now know someone whose family has been affected by that storm's devastation. I/we are asking that if you can do anything for these family members, we would be grateful. We heard on the news that the area that they lived in was near where the levee broke, and they are all fairly sure that the houses are all flooded. From the looks of it, they may not even get to get into the area for 3 or 4 months, and by then the houses will be totally uninhabitable, and everything inside it lost. Speculation is that they may be living in Houston for the next year. We have been greatly blessed, first by their getting out of New Orleans prior to the storm, and by the help given to the family, already. Thank you all. We know anything you can send, if not able to fit the family, will be passed on, and nothing will get wasted. The address for the house is 738 W 43rd St, Houston TX 77018 ----------------------------------------------------------- (From the previous messages) Just to let you know that Jeff's Brother-in-law, Chuck, Donna and their family (Adrian, Christian and Elena), Donna's Parents (John and Bonnie Matthews) and her sister Dale, and Joey and their family (Ashley and Lindsey) are all safe and sound, here in Houston. They got out of New Orleans in time. From what we can all gather, their homes in New Orleans are submerged under water and they may be stranded here for as much as a month. Theyare all staying at the 43rd Street House for the moment. Though nothing is known for certain, they are all fairly sure that everything they had back there was lost in the flooding, and they won't be able to know until they can get back. Anyone who wants to help, can give the house a call, and let them know of what you can do for help, including help in caring for the children, or providing a respite for the adults. ----------------------------------------------------------- (Information from Ronnie) Just got off of the phone with Donna, I would like to call out to our Quintero families, they really need some help. If any one has any extra mattresses or something that can be used to sleep on, it would be greatly appreciated. They also left with minimal clothing (3 days worth) if you have been meaning to clean out those closets and drawers, well it would be deeply appreciated now. Remember it not only Chuck and Donna and the kids, it also Mr. & Mrs. Matthews, and Donna's sister Dale and her family. Mainly for now they need something to sleep on. Thank you all for your help what ever you can do will be appreciated.
