Hello Roopa , nice to see you posting here again , glad your'e well. Take Care [ and yes , i'll be watching Live 8 on tv too ]
-
I spoke to Harvey Goldsmith, the concert organiser. It's crazy the way things were organised but it's not his fault; things were manic.
-

I saw the user Siri online the other day;; I swear she used to post here.....

Robert Kinsler at the Orange County Register is a huge Rusty fan since Eulogy days. Here's a snipped from his Friday "Orange Pop" column: It was just over two years ago that Paul McCartney headlined an outdoor show before an estimated 100,000 fans in Red Square in Moscow. Lead guitarist Rusty Anderson, who grew up in La Habra, was a key part of the band's powerful performance at the May 24, 2003, show, as demonstrated on "Paul McCartney: In Red Square" DVD, released Tuesday. The roles of Anderson and other members of McCartney's band seem more solid and relaxed than on the ex-Beatle's previous DVD release, 2002's "Back in the U.S." Fans of Anderson - and they seem to be growing, as evidenced by the seemingly endless line of autograph seekers and admirers who came to see him perform a special two-set show in Fullerton on May 19 - will see his virtuoso guitar and backing vocals on display as McCartney performs 30 of his best-known songs, spanning his career with the Beatles and Wings and as a solo artist. The DVD features the original concert from Red Square shown on A&E last year, as well as a never-before-seen concert from St. Petersburg. Information: www.paulmccartney.com.

Very cool.

Not often I see a band that I like as much as I liked Eulogy, but last night I saw Constantine Maroulis' band Pray For The Soul Of Betty at the Key Club on the Strip, and they were INCREDIBLE. I had done some of their California and New York radio stuff, but had yet to see them live. Absolutely amazing.
-
I recently got their CD and it's very good . I bet they would be a great band to see playing live !!

I'm glad you had a good time, Corinne! At last! Have your feet touched ground since then??? I hear our friend Z may do some shows of his own soon. You gonna be there?

I would not miss a Z show for anything! Well, unless it is Geographically Undesirable on an inconvenient day of the week, LOL. PFTSOB is a great band. I hope they get a real label, not just a distribution deal like they have now. Hard to get past the AI thing without the support of a giant label behind you (though Constantine does have a solo deal; he is also the first single - BoRhap - off the new Queen trib album).

Some friend/fan you are!!! To let convenience figure into your attendance at what promises to be a GREAT show!!! I hope PFTSOB gets a real label too. Always room for another great band!

I know, I know, I totally suck. But since my treks to LA always involve a 50 mile trek back to The OC, it gets my old bod home waaaaaay past my bedtime, which I am simply too ancient to deal with on a work day, LOL.
-
Just popping in to say Hi. Did anyone else see Rusty give George Michael a kiss at Live 8?! I got some good photos (but not of that kiss as my camera had run out of film by then).
-
There is a nice photo of Rusty at Live 8 on stage at the end of the show, in this weeks NME magazine too, he looks very happy [ there is a small photo of Brian aswell ]

I'm not buying that one, girl!!! I have a few years on you and I can still do it!!!! You just gotta set your priorities!!! And you're too young for SLEEP to be a priority!!!!!
-
Can you get the NME in the states? If not...it would be very very very nice for someone to scan and to share please? I couldn't find any pictures of Rusty from live 8, not even the internet; seen some of Brian, Abe, and Wix but that's all.
-
I ahve no access to a scanner. Www.nme.com sells back issues or I can get you their phone number. Email karen.walter@ipcmedia.com to enquire alternatively. Somewhere like Borders should do it though.

Alas, that is a long-assed drive back from LA afterwards. Same reason I am skipping Rusty's show tomorrow. Well, that and because I have to be checked for suspected glaucoma tomorrow afternoon, which means I won't be driving afterwards anyhow since my eyes will be dialated. And the glaucoma check thing pretty much is all that I am focused on right now.
