-
Das vielleicht aber ist es originell? Ich weiß nicht....? Wie nennt ihr dann euer erstes Album? "Various Artists on the run!"

You can lobby your elected officials and you can vote with your conscience. About ratting on their comrades. Is it a bad thing if it saves the lives of innocent people?
I didn't say that ratting out your comrades was a bad thing to do if it saved innocent people. I said something quite different. You might wish to review what I said before responding to what I said. Carol, you might want to go back and reread what I said because your reply above is not a reply to my statement. My above statement was in response to you saying that you would devote every moment of consciousness you have to seeing that government removed from office. If you don't like what your elected leaders are doing you can lobby them many different ways, including the ballot box.
My plan is a plan to keep people from wanting to join or create a terrorist groups here at home. Knowing that it could very well cost his family their citizenships and all of their assets and a permanent trip back to their original homeland would be incentive enough to keep some people from ever joining a terrorist group in the first place.
This is all very interesting, but it was my impression that all of the 19 9/11 hijackers were foreign born--that they were socially marginal people from Saudi Arabia primarily. How will your plan to threaten the families of ... people suspected of planning terrorism... with deportation... help us if the families are all in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, or Great Britain? Again, you're missing my point. I'm talking about homegrown terrorists. The 19 you mention also exploited our freedoms to kill Americans. In almost any other country they would have been in jail before 9/11.
If you think deporting his family is too harsh - that's your choice to believe that, but it wouldn't be mine. The terrorist group itself is illegal. After the fact when the terrorist is caught and convicted -- it's a free one-way trip back to the old country for his family. Exceptions could be made if the terrorists turns on his people and provides valuable information to break up cells, bring members to justice, and save lives.
I don't think deporting the families of hijackers is "too harsh." I think it is immoral, illegal, unconstitutional, stupid, useless, and profoundly unamerican. I'm sure it is unconstitutional. That's why I said I would like to see an amendment to the constitution. It's not useless or immoral if it saves innocent lives. What's immoral is allowing terrorists to exploit our freedoms for their causes and they make no secret that they will take us down because of our laws.
It's a great bargaining tool. Right now we have no bargaining tools. I would bet that more Americans would like my idea over yours, which is do nothing at all except provide free lawyers. These people are not simple criminals in our country, they are terrorists and should be dealt with differently than criminals.
My idea is not to "do nothing but provide free lawyers." If you would like to know what my idea is, feel free to ask me what my idea is. Please do tell. If you have a formula for effectively fighting terrorists I would like to hear it.
The country wasn't found on the principles of people destroying it from within. But our enemies, right here in America, are counting on us to play right into their hands with thoughts like - we are too good for that, let's rehabilitate them, there is good in everyone.
What in heavens name are you talking about? You explained some of the principles upon which our country was found in defending the rights of the family members of terrorists. I simply explained that the country wasn't formed so that people can exploit the freedoms given to those who live here. Terrorists have already said they will defeat us using our laws.
I am aware of the Constitution and, like I said, it's a pipedream.
Ah, we're at the heart of the matter here, aren't we? The entire constitution is a pipedream? The orderly transfer of power, the three branches of government, each serving as a check and balance on the possibility of another branch gaining too much power--all a pipe dream? We should chuck the constitution out the window and stop futzing around with trying to live by it and govern by it? Is that your position, Mike? Again, you have to go back and reread what I said in regards to "pipedream" I said getting a constitutional amendment passed allowing for the deportation of the families of homegrown terrorists is a pipedream because Democrats wouldn't allow it and the Republicans don't have the guts either. This is the third time I said that. I hope you see it this time
After suicide bombers start blowing themselves up in high end coffee houses near schools both party's might finally wake up.
Ah, a little whiff of the 'rich, elite, snobby, wooly-headed liberal dupes of communism' spin. Have you really never considered the possibility that most liberals and Democrats don't make any more money than you do, and they sure as heck don't have time to spend in "high end coffee houses," whatever those are? Those are your words not mine. Are you overwhelmed with liberal guilt? I said both party's and you read it in terms of a partisan and even brought incomes into the equation. Terrorist don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat. They hate you and me equally.
My plan is an idea I would like to see implemented, it's not a threat. Remember this, our laws are so friendly to those who disregard them because of left wing activists and if Britian had the same laws as the US ten jumbo jets would be sitting in the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean right now.
Your plan is to threaten suspected terrorists by threatening their innocent family members with deportation if they don't rat on their comrades. Your plan is to threaten people who are guilty of nothing because they happen to be related to people who may be guilty of something. You can concern yourself with the well being of "innocent family members" and the rights of terrorists not to rat out their comrades who want to kill innocent Americans. I'll concern myself with truly innocent Americans targeted by terrorists. It would be a whole lot easier if you left my post intact and replied directly below it Cheers, Carol
