Laugh at the Moon
-
I was leaving work for the day - when .... what should I see - a small room that I have not seen before How did that get there?! The door was open and it looked like mission control inside there. I read the name Waxbeam on a name plate. Now what is Waxbeam up to? And why at our company. I went home - still thinking of Waxbeam and that room. Was I imagining it? The next day the door was closed. I must have been making it up inside my tired mind. Two hours and 25 minutes and 43 seconds later there was a rumbling on the other side of the building - some thought it to be an earthquake in a place that has no earthquakes. And then it was quiet again. Three days later - the other side of the building shook, vibrated and then settled down. After the buzz of so many people - all things became quiet and Waxbeam was nowhere to be seen. Many days went by ... it was mostly forgetten except for a few odds and ends stories for our own entertainment. The next day was strange - a few things seemed out of place -- there was a certain smell in the air -- the building had different things -- big trucks would come and go with deliveries - hmmmm. The day then turned into another day at the office -- if anything slightly on the boring side -- And then!!!!!!!!!! 10-9-8-7-6 Engines firing 5-4- starting sequence could be heard on the loud speakers for paging - 3-2 -1 you talk about G forces !!! OUR WHOLE BUILDING WAS vibrating - buzzing - Grumbling with an unmatched fierce EXPLOSION of noise, speed and acceloration!!! WAXBEAM!!! I could hear the company President shout with happiness and fear in the same breath. Waxbeam had us on a course to the moon!!! [continued on the next page]
-
Part Two [later on that flight] as we all called our family's, friends, neighbors or someone we casually knew ... to take care of things -- Waxbeam had us hurrling toward the moon .... WOW it WAS AWESOME!!! Up close -- I never thought I would be in a building circling the moon!!! And then a strange sensation again - weightless for a few seconds - then it felt like another day at the office ha ha ha ---KABOOOOOOOM the whole stock room disconnected and was going to land on the moon!!! I was laughing and joking how cool the moon was and related all my stories -- and for the first time in awhile -- nobody thought I was nuts ha ha ha -- then I joked how tough and how long it was going to take to get parts And to get a pizza up here "Do you want to take your room and go?" Me go to the moon?!?!? After going this far and being suprised as all could be -- I laughed and laughed More laughter tears this was great!!! Well did you fill out that report? What? The report. Oh yeah I will have that to you in a short time. Gosh my mind is out of control. People gather 'round said my boss -- "I'd like you all to meet Waxbeam he's the new guy now. Oh laugh at the moon I told myself it was just a daydream - and then a loud thud could be heard -- a space suit fell out of the closet.
-
To smile is a strain but I must I'll laugh again I will but I do glance at the moon from time to time.

naturally:
Hey where is the Moon now? Where did you hide her?
Funny that you wrote this -- not in ha ha ha -- but in coincidence to this: It was daylight - but there I could see the moon -- oh it is going to be quite a sight for all to see when the sunsets and the glow of the moon is a dance for all eyes to see. And as I thought about it .... I knew that there were places in the world - where night time was upon them -- and I grinned inside knowing they were seeing the delight of a moon so right. The reports started coming in how the moon was gone! How could this be?? When I could see it in the blue sky? Why couldn't anyone see it in the darker sky? Where there clouds? Buildings in the way? Trees in the way? Too many lights on the ground? A different orbit? And so I wondered .... Am I seeing it in my mind and projecting it in the sky -- for no one could see the moon! Did I really see it -- or was I filling in the missing moon? Or could it be -- that in their eyes -- because they had seen it so many times -- they could no longer see the moon? I may have been laughing alone at the moon -- when I thought the world was laughing at the moon with me ...... [this is the same story] Don't ask me how this is possible -- some kid went up to a machine that looked like a gum-ball machine. Stuck his money in it and crank crank crank -- out rolled the MOON! The moon in the blue sky was gone! Is this one of those parallel universe things that all the planets and satellites - spheres and comets - astroids and the like could be in a gum-ball machine??? And as he -- being a kid -- went to put it in his mouth -- got distracted by a loud cricket or spider -- perhaps a butterfly --(I can only guess) ... The moon looked like it would fall to the ground (most of us would see it fall and assume it would hit the ground -- filling in the blanks of the expected.... results) -- But I saw it - the moon never hit the ground - it began an orbit - blended in like a wallflower -- well you may not see it this instant - soon oh soon you will see the moon - and I will know I am not the only one - and on that day -- I hope we may all laugh at the moon - laughing together

As a child I looked at the moon and laughed. All the older folks frowned at me and told me to stop it! Stop it!!! STOP IT!! So I tried not to laugh around them - although I would grin when I saw their bird nest eye brows -- they took it well thinking I liked being scolded with mean frowns and stories of moth-balled suits, coats and sweaters. Days of riding the trolley for 1 penny. At school I tried to find books on the moon -- I laughed when I carried one to the front desk. (I got kicked out of the library that day.) The next time I tried I snorted back a huge laugh and was kicked out for the whole week. Then when I returned with a grin -- the library teacher wanted to take a shoe horn to my hands. It wasn't too long after that -- that I realized I was not suppose to laugh at anything. I kept my laughter so far inside that I began to look frownish and sad - in a state of bummer. No funny joke could make me laugh. I read the newspapers and watched the news to keep myself in a constant state of sadness. And then that night I saw the full moon in all its glory oh me oh my oh ha ha ha HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHA heee haaa ha ha HAHA HA Laughter tears were in my eyes My heart felt the joy of the shining moon - the onlooking stars and our own star the sun -- melting the sadness and shining its light on the moon -- to cause me to laugh HAHAHAHA heehaaa ha ha oh wow!!!! Joyous tears flowed and flowed and a sound I wasn't used to hearing -- my own laughter from the within -- flowed for the world to see hear and feel -- exept they didn't ..... and I realized --- it wasn't learning to laugh -- it was learning to squash and tuck it away -- I had to learn and rediscover that it was okay -- more than okay -- it was so right to laugh that night --- to laugh at the moon

So I'm up all night on a night not too different from soo many to do it all for a penny I'm washing link a henny out of nowhere I glance up there she is laugh I don't conforted I am.

another day in the life of the_fool?? Early morning before the cows rub the sleep sand out of their eyes ... I looked in the sky and saw a halo of clouds and the glow that lit those clouds in such a grand display .... was the one the one and only Moon!! (*and of course - even though you know -- the announcers have to say that the crowd is not booing -- they are saying Moooooooooon!!!!) <-- as if we didn't know by now Well that just gave me a morning grin and to fill you in ... I grinned when getting up ... because that moon - bless its dust - shone through my window with its biggest mooon smile hug and care (at least I thought so then ... didn't realize there was more to come). What a way to start my day Uh oh! I was running late - all because of my awe of that friendly neighboring sphere. I drove toward my place of work .... at the same time - the moon ascended softly. I could not see the halo anymore - perhaps it moved away to the next city, town or place to delight the next set of eyes .... the moon by contrast was as big as I have ever known it to be!!! It appeared to be resting in a "V" of clouds (I had to watch my driving - and wanted to watch the moon) I turned the corner as the road gave the illusion of being paved to the sky -- and there .... to my delight - was the moon with cloud arms raised above its happy face -- like the encore of a concert with its -- TA DA!!!!! I was smiling inside ear to ear -- I have seen the best of the day -- I hope the rest of it can match this beauty .... the moon through the good and the bad - the happy and the sad -has been there I laughed out loud waking up from a dream this morning -- somewhere I know ..... it was inspired by the moon - I give thanks - and miss you when I don't see you - but know you are there - and you make me smile - and somedays ........ laugh

Thank you hey_kittay I don't like rituals like scrying on the moon, but I just read it will be the biggest and brightest one of 2009. So hopefully it will bring you something good.

I could only use my imagination and laugh at my guestimation of how the moon must have looked -- it was snowing and snowing as clouds did their best to cover the sky and take away my chance to see this spectacular sight indeed ....... HA HA I laugh inside -- and like the moon you don't see or hear the laughter .....but it is there

Its cold to the bones -- I am anxiously wired in a crisscross of nerves that jolts my gut once in awhile playing in my mind and standing in front of my dreams - causing me to flip-flop on my temporary bed of three cushions from a nearby couch placed on the floor so my legs wouldn't have to be elevated on the arm of the couch. The glass that once held the water has instantly iced and breaks into many pieces of unexplainable happening to my way of knowing as I try as I want to know as I know I have to .... its time to do something if at all possible - soon. My face would crack if I smiled - or would it? I know I could use a good laugh -- and in such a moment I handing laughter to ....... Hey I real eyes -- this is a laugh at the moon thread. What was I thinking?! So here this electric dust covered ball sends vibes through the atmosphere -- This HUGE MOON stares me in the eye WOAH! I exclaim. I'm gonna be moon mash!! And I start running in the eclipsing shadow that seems to never end -- What is going to happen to the EARTH?!? Like a snap it zip zaps back into its place in the sky. "What was that all about?!" I say boldly - knowing it could do the same thing in an instant. "Insufficient postage," The moon shrugged as it spoke - "not enough to get to where I was going." "What was your plan?" I asked trying not to be taken wrong. "I donno - I was thinking about snorkeling and looking for a mustached fish so brightly blue with bits of yellow like that of a happy face "You Snorkeling!" I laughed and laughed and oh how this moon brought laughter to my being. "Yeah... why not?" "Because you don't have any fins you silly moon." ops: "You're right ....." and then it became night - a bit cloudy and I could still see that magic glow of the-ol- goofy sphere

I am laughing deliriously as I contemplate the LOVELY MOON becoming FULL, as I watch it night after night. Oh Moon! My precious Love, come out and play with me!

I haven't seem you for awhile - your face lights a familiar smile - I feel the tears of joy. There have been days that the moon exists .... I know so - its just that the clouds are in the way. Once in a great while the clouds would part-shuffle out of the way ... and to make the day and night - oh such a sweet sight indeed to all who are lucky to see the moon. In this particular time of particles when part of me could use a great big hug -- there were shades and shadows of a possible moon glow -- good for the soul -- that good glob of goodness. It seemed to be days and days and nights and nights that there was no moon to be seen by me. I thought of good thoughts and smiled at the thoughts of you. How lucky I was to have felt a moment in time - and that time I wore a smile of remembering -- something ....something about you stayed with me. To the sky with happiness that the Earth may know you ....the way I may have in a moment ..... and may it come back to you greater than all you have given. In a quick-like-random thought I thought I knew I thought I have not seen the moon in many days -- yet I know a full one is on the way -- some say it is a phase its going through ..... There in the sky before my eyes -- the beauty of the full moon The sky was clear!! I was one of the lucky ones this night to see it <--- I can still see it through these emoticon sunglasses. I took a picture and all the glory of the full moon looked like a small dot. "Whats Dat?' Someone asked. "Not Dat ... Dot." I said. "Dot!" They exclaimed. "Yes Dot." I replied. "Dat's Dot?" They questioned. "Dot's Dot." I said matter of a factually. "Dot." They sniffed and stooped - stomped and surely as if they had rice in their soup said, "dot." And silently whispered away. And gosh darn it all that was soooooooooooo stupiddidly reeeeediculas that I laughed And laughed And laughed at the moon.

You got me crying for the moon.
