Silly questions for Paul
-
Good thought about rabbits! Opus, you know you said "wolves are beautiful, but can be sneaky." That is true. But some don't know just how delightfully deceitful those cute, furry rabbits can be! So, I feel it is my duty to warn Paul about following rabbits! I did it once, and still have not come back from Wonderland! It is a very interesting trip, but not for the faint of heart! Okay, Paul? Peter Rabbit is nice. Paul, I have never ridden a horse. I know, can you believe it? I LOVE horses! Will you teach me how to ride a horse?
-
I'll have to agree with LOVEWOLVES ... watch out for the white rabbits, they probably do fall into the "sneaky creature" category, especially if any mad hatters are around or cheshire cat's are looming up in the trees. Okay ... let's see that little back and forth action about Peter Rabbit made me think about bedtime stories, and now I'm wondering if you're inclined to read 'em to your little one or if you're inclined to make up your own stories to share since you are a creative sort aren't ya??

Say Paul do you like the ice Capades. love doris.

LOVEWOLVES:
Well, I know I stared at the sun too long once. When I was in second grade, I think, I went to school and decided I'd stare at the sun. That was dumb wasn't it? ahhhhh! this is my 1000 post! Now I am not "spinning" anymore! I liked spinning! Is "getting closer" better? :
Probably not dumb ... just curious and maybe a little bold. I did it once when I was about 3 or 4, looked at it long enough for it to stop being all yellow. Turns dark like an eclipse if you look at it long enough. Was in the middle of a conversation with a step-parent about what it was (properties and stuff ... you know, what is that thing??) and he was telling me to not look at it because I'd go blind. I was telling him, I don't think it does that ... and he was telling me that he was quite sure that it would do that. Oh well ... some people's kids right?

Paul You think that the walls in the hall should be wide or narrow love. How many holes in the wall would fill the wide hall as opposed to the narrow one. Oh I am not speaking of the Albert Hall I am speaking of the Hall in an average castle , estate, home or cabin. love doris.

I bet Paul has his own stories he tells don't you? I am sure the stories are very interesting. I wonder if Paul ever sings lullabies to his little one? Wouldn't that be sweet? I have a Peter Rabbit puzzle I bought for someone recently. It is so cool. Paul, do you like historical things? Like old buildings, cathedrals, houses, ancient Nature sites? Do you like the subject of history in general? Do you ever tromp around and take pictures of said historical structures? Oh, and do you like those crazy mirrorballs? I LOVE them! If you had a mirrorball in your house, where would you put it?

Paul when you tell stories to kids do you leave out monsters or sometimes as I call them Rasty nasties love doris.

(((doris))) ...you crack me up! ...i love your silly questions to Paul!

This one might not actually be silly (but who knows really) ... I was reading a little from the 'Paintings' book that was put out a few years ago last night and now I'm wondering if he's been doing any of that of late. Hmmm ... odd that the residual of doing that before I went to bed ended with me have math related frustration dreams (obviously a different thread than this one). Wonder what I'd be dreaming about if I really focused on working out some melodies instead ... maybe I'll try that and see what comes up. ... regarding the bedtime stories, I'd like to think he's pretty good at that. I mean I'd be inclined to listen to any of that sort of thing that might be offered up, seems like he'd have fun with it and he does have a lovely speaking voice doesn't he??
-
How very strange ... evidently someone's written up an article about his tendency toward collecting oddities and such today, and has quoted excerpts from that book I'd mentioned within the article without making note that this tendency has to do with his painting process. Trippy way to wake up ... having some of that material placed in odd regions of the net (out of context even). Almost serendipitously arranged ... do you believe in serendipity (it can be quite the magical thing to be in the midst of)?

Oh, now we are on Paul's paintings again! From what I have seen on the internet, since I do not own his book yet, his paintings are really FABulous! I loved the Celtic themed ones the best, so far. I bet he has a lot of others no one has seen stashed somewhere? hmmm? But really I want to own his "Paintings" book, cause I am interested in that photo that is in the book, someone posted about. The one where Paul is supposedly standing in the nude, looking at a nude painting of a woman. Sounds pretty erotic to me. LOL! Yes, Paul has a lovely voice. The accent is so hip! Now for my silly question. Paul would you mind being painted in the nude? I mean as in someone painting you all over with wildly coloured paints? I know I mentioned this before as a thought...don't worry you could use environmentally friendly edible of paints?

Ohh, how interesting. So Paul collects oddities and so how does this help him with his painting process? That is a good question. Serendipity is real. But there are no accidents. That doesn't go together by defintion. But magick cannot be explained. Yes, I wonder Paul if you believe in magick? Oh, of course not. That would be silly, wouldn't it?

Paul do you ever have animals attacking your vaccum cleaners. They are known all over for being the nemisis of dogs, cats, and birds. love doris.

The 'Paintings' book has a few comments provided within it by some critics and folks that are well schooled in that medium, as well as an interview with him where he kind of goes into picking up things that might be useful to incorporate into his work. I'd gotten the hardback copy a couple of years ago as a gift from a friend and actually hadn't opened it or read any of the articles until last night (not sure what compelled me to do so at the time, and I can't quite explain why I hadn't looked it over more until now ... probably personal issues made me a little reticent to do so). Like you, I'd seen his work online and some of the information that's in the book was out there when it was first released although I hadn't seen anything recently on it. Just thought that it was odd that the first time I decided to dive in and read it, the very next morning one of the first things I came across led to a link with the article that I'd mentioned ... made it much easier to counter the points made in the article in that thread I found the link in (different site altogether by the way). Question ... if serendipity is real then how can there be no accidents, since serendipity is contingent upon 'finding good things accidentally?' Seems rather enigmatic of a concept on some level (perhaps we should start an 'enigmatic questions for Paul' thread). Conversely I've got two stainless steel plates and 7 bolts holding my right arm together that might be a little less likely to be there if accidents weren't the norm within the schema of life (per se). I'd say that the spice of life is what you do in the face of adversity and adversity thrives upon the turbulence of unpredictability and lack of preparation. By the way the photo that you're referencing is a shadowed silhouette of Paul in front of the nude, and it's in black and white (Linda took most of the photo's that are within the book). Although the concept of doing body art on him with edible paint is an honestly original proposition to bring up ... think I'll leave it at that, don't wanna place my creative imagination into overdrive or anything.

By the way LOVEWOLVES the date that you joined the site happens to be the anniversary of the date that those pieces of metal were placed in that there arm ... exactly 11 years earlier. Just noticed that ... and yeah, it's a little weird that I did notice it isn't it? I think I might be too self-involved or something ... but it's okay, I'm probably just going through a really long phase.

SAy Paul do you build strange things out of the odds and ends you collect love doris.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor arm! I hope it is doing okay? So you are a "number watcher" too? I am crazy about numbers. Not doing anything spectacular with them, but just playing with them. They are like codes aren't they, in a way? I notice "interesting numbers" as well. I think it is very interesting that you noticed May 29th as the 11 year anniversary of your arm surgery, was the date I joined the board. I hope I am not bad luck? But all the same, you joined on November 13th. And I too noticed this date earlier on, because 13 is my favourite number. I think accidents are already known to the Universe before they happen to us. I suppose a pre-destination of some sort, but not in a religious sense. And "man" created the word "accident" so in that case Serendipity can indeed exist, since the Cosmos knew beforehand, and Man does not fully understand the Universe's secret laws. Does that make any sense? All my "accidents" in Life have sucked, but have made me a stronger person, I agree w/you there! And I wouldn't be here posting on this board right now if some of those accidents had not occurred, so it all worked out for the best! Oh! I had a great streak of luck today! A black cat ran across the parking lot in front of me! I take that as good luck, some do not. A very beautiful cat it was too! Thanx for the information about Paul's Painting book. I really need to get it.

You're pretty interesting LOVEWOLVES, in a good way. I get a kick out of your take on things. Hmmm, yes numbers are interesting and I suppose I do take note of 'em. Not in a static sense though, don't think that's practical ... more of a dynamic appreciator of them. Was born on the 13th and so I'm not inclined to think of it as ominous or anything like that, wouldn't be practical to do that ... I understand the rationale that's tied to that stuff though, had to do with the Knights Templar and the King of France. My birthday is an anniversary of that actually. Here I go getting a little introspective, the arms fine I'm using it at the moment to type and works for just about everything (although occasionally opening bottles give me a little grief). By the way ... hmmm, what thread is this?? There's a weird dream tied to that day too, I digress. May 29th is also one of the presidents birthdays ... obscure facts, he was in that dream too. If this is the 'silly questions' thread, then maybe I should ask a silly question. Do you ever just find yourself drawn into reading things like the encyclopedia or the dictionary? Wondering what playing scrabble with someone from Liverpool might be like too ... I have a feeling that might be challenging (for me I mean).
-
See I knew I was getting a little to cosmically profuse with that last post ... yeah, I'm over here giggling at the moment. No worries, well maybe a couple but nothing too serious. Here's a question for the sake of the thread (gotta salvage the point of it right?) ... this has to do with water and whether one is a "sinker" or a "floater" ... personally I'm a floater, I can't sink even if I try really hard (heavy thoughts don't help either). I've been floating since I was a young one ... many year's now. I met someone that was the exact opposite ... they'd jump in the pool and sink to the bottom and then hang out down there flexing their lungs a bit and he couldn't float at all (he was a surfer so endurance was important to him ... this was one of his training related tricks). Question is ... are you a sinker or a floater?
-
ahhhhh! yes, The Knights Templar and the King Of France. The terrible anniversary of the 13th of "that" month, since I happen to dig The Knights Templar. How interesting, as I once knew a very special friend born on your birthday! Isn't the Universe so unpredictable? LOL! The 13th, black cats, etc... I have always loved since a child. I have no explaination for it whatsoever. Way before I knew of superstitions some people have towards such dates and creatures. Getting back to The Knights Templar, Paul, do you believe the Holy Grail does indeed exist? If so, what colours does it possess if any? And do you have it hidden away somewhere in your home? As far as sinkers and floaters Opus, I am a floater. I have tried to drown myself in many ways, but seem to float despite my efforts! I am an optimistic floater these days! <giggle>
