Does Paul do enough?

nicely put Maryann. btw I'm from Brooklyn too.

It's quite lovely to meet a Sir Paul McCartney fan from Brooklyn, Denny. I live in Carroll Gardens. In all seriousness the more he does, the more amazed I am. SPM is a man of vision and insight who has done so much for so many. I am in awe of him.
-
I am from Sheepshead bay, and I am in awe of his gifts as well. One of the things I admire the most is how he doesn't need to show off what he does. There are certain charities that he lends his name, but so many stories of quiet silent donations, with no strings attached. That is the true measure of generosity.

One thing that Paul might think about doing is a public service message that runs every Oct and reminds woman how important it is to get checked. It shocking how many women don't get checked. He would catch their attention and it doesn't cost anything but would save so many lives. It a cause that has touched him so personal that know one can ever "expect him" to do anything. Some things are just too personal and painful of reminders. However Linda passing was a eye opener to woman and Paul has the midas touch on any thing he sheds light on. public anouncement could save lots of children of losing there mothers.

Paul has a big heart....and if he finds something important enough to stand up for, he does. Plain and simple. KJ

We all know about the charities & various good works that Paul has already publicly made known that he supports and/or contributes to. I'm quite sure that he has also contributed to a great number of other very worthy causes that just aren't publicized for obvious reasons. Paul shouldn't have to go on record for every single good deed he does. Knowing what charitiable acts he has done is good enough.

That's one of the question I think... How come Paul can live with so many money? Would it make him happy, proud, guilty, worried? When asked Lennon on a Playboy interview about his 250 milions. "Yeah, you only can take your soul with you, but what do you want me to do, give everything and walk the streets?"... How much give? WHERE to give? Why give? Paul is a worker, he has hurt not no one to earn the money... quite the oppossite... Would part of the money fix something? The Golden generation of rock and roll are all milionaries or bilionaires... well... it gives them power, even to protect their music... God knows what would happen to the Beatles legacy after Paul.

It shouldn't matter how much does for various charities, etc. Whatever he does, he is doing it from the goodness of his heart & that is more than good enough. Just as many others do random acts of kindness & don't look for any personal gain or public attention, just be happy knowing that here is a man who cares & is a good person.

Paul is very generous, I am sure we will never know all the people he has helped over the years. He does his own thing. If you had a lot of money, would you like everyone telling you how to spend it? No!
-
Giving money it is not charity. It is supporting corruption. What inspires me is Macca's music, what he does or not, if he makes charity or not, it is something between him and his consciousness. I am sure he is generous. He is a Gemini.

I love his commitment,He folllows his heart obviously. How much more a human can get more beautiful once they are true to themselves..He is vegeterian, and strongly against animal abuse..Not only his music calms me down when I am very sad, but also he is my inspiration.
-
I believe Paul is giving to so many charities his time and money. I believe so many of his songs sing of peace, love, and harmony with our environment, and protection of the animals. I believe he is trying to reach out and teach the world as much as he can while he is on this earth. I have grown up knowing Paul through the media, and he is still doing what he has been doing since the beginning..teaching us to love each other, and not hate..and to protect the things our Creator has given us on this earth. Paul has been an inspiration to me since eleven years of age, and continues to do so at the age of 55. He is truly a beautiful person. If there were more of him on this earth, the things that could be done, the poverty taken care of, AIDS gone, Landmines no more, etc.

I think a better question should be one that we each should ask ourselves: "Am I doing enough? How can I help make this a better world?" If you don't have money to give, then maybe you could volunteer your time. Or, just by making a few changes in your own personal life. (Now, I feel like a real hypocrite. I know I should start with changing myself first . . . )

I agree completely!!!
-
the fact he married a woman with one leg was a act of charity. How many guys would of taken the time to get to know someone with a disability. It also may be the reason his judgement got clouded.

Okay, I know you probably didn't mean to be rude, it's not nice to make fun of people with disabilities, but your . . . bluntness . . . is downright hilarious! "Dear Lord Jesus, Forgive her, for she does not know what she does . . ."

Tripping:
femaleanimal:
Apparently he does. So we can all criticise him for it.
Here we go as usual.....no one can put forth an opinion on the almighty one.... :
Tripping thank you for your voice. I entirely agree with you and thank you that you care. support you and think just the same. Though I came here to speak of another quite serious problem - the kid's cancer and the lack of equipment for its testing and detection. In our country the doctors say that 80% of kid's lives can be saved in case of early cancer detection. Though hospitals in Ukraine lack professional equipment for cancer detection. And the people who can make serious donations dont pay enough attention to this problem. Its a problem not only of our country I guess. Cancer is a world kiler and demands serious research to save the lives of people all over the worl and people we love. And I think that such prominent personalities as Paul could be the voice that could pay attention and attract donations in research of this problem.

What inspires me is Macca's music, what he does or not, if he makes charity or not, it is something between him and his consciousness. We are talking here about looking for changes and nobody's going to critisize Paul. And if such topics arise it means that people can share different opinions. Unfortunately, there are some serious problems that still exist in our world and we have to join effots for overcoming them. As P.s. - We love Macca first because he is Macca not because of his charity activitis because 'money cant buy me love'. And his music has already made the world a better place and became a part of my life like the sun rising every morning. He is the best person in the world I ever have heard or seen.
