THE GLOBAL WINGS THREAD

You plug your guitar directly into your laptop? What kind of connection? USB?
great question; the one thing I did have was that crucial adaptor, to make the plug on my guitars chord the smaller size to fit into the mic jack on my laptop. come to think of it that adapter makes all the difference doesn't it! picked it up at a radioshack one time I think it was my laptops lack of midi components or something that would not allow me to use the laptop as an amp, per se. Like I could never hear what I was recording/playing live, but then I could stop and play it back and it would have sound coming through the speakers on that. so I could keep time and feel off the previous tracks. doing the drums was a bitch still don't know exactly why I couldn't get it so I could hear myself live...

Resourceful, you are! Why not get a cheap mic at RadioShak and record your songs with your vocals and guitar running through your machine? Oh...the reults!

First of all, that?s a sick rendition of We Got Married. Global Wings is the best Macca cover band I?ve heard. The guitars are one thing, the whole sound of the track is amazingly well nailed. but the vocals are almost the most impressive part. Its like Bjorn?s voice has some of the same seemingly natural vocal tendancies as Paul has. He can hit a lot of the little subtle things Paul does however Bjorn, I was listening to one of your original tracks at Reverbnation, and you can also sound like Chris Cornell! Cool voice. how many people play on that? what part you record first? drums last? About recording on my laptop, I may look into it. Systems have somewhat changed since Bird Dog.. I have a new laptop (from work), same model but no longer have the software I used that night. I got all hot and bothered to record something that night so I went on line and downloaded a free trial of some program, good for 10 days I think. Worst case I suppose I could do that again though! Or my brother has Acid Pro, but he complains about it.. but should actually get that from him. Its always a bit sketchy using the work laptop though.. if I crash it or something somehow etc.. I also have an iMac at home just sitting pretty, and that?s got garage band. But its in a bad spot, in our den where all family is breaking loose all the time.. cant get quiet time. and cannot easily surround myself with chords and instruments.. unless I want a bottle of milk to the head while I?m singing Pretty Easy That?s why I take my flip it to my brother house. Although I did do that original Baby?s Request, the very first one which I deleted, on the iMac. And it had my son asking me about Praying Mantesses on it?

No Lost my PC. I finally took my pc to be repaired but the place has suddenly shut down for a long time (with my pc inside!). I don't think I'll get it repaired till September. Now I'm using a laptop. As far as I know I can't record with this.
What kind of business does something like that???! I would sue them.
It's a long story, they don't have exactly "shut down"... well, they did but it's because the guy who runs it is very ill. An option would be anyone to open the shop so people can take his pc to other shop or anywhere, but they're not doing it. I don't like much the idea of forcing to open the shop of someone who's very ill. I guess I'll have to wait till September cause even if they opened it soon for the people to get the pcs, I would hardly find a place that would fix my pc here in August in a fast, good way (repairing everything really).........

Seriously, how can they keep people personal property, that?s needless to say completely ridiculous. Don?t they know they are inhibiting Global Wings over here! b**tard. 21st, not sure what kind of laptop you have exactly, but I?ve recorded plugging directly into a laptop, and only being able to hear the play back of tracks in the laptop speakers! here?s the track
everything I played, I could only hear the rattling of my electric guitar strings. and I was actually listening to the playback too so pretty much had to used the forceas I only got this laptop a week ago, I'm not sure of what it can do... i guess there is some way. My plan is to forget about recording until i have my pc back. But maybe I'll get bored before and I'll start doing something, looking for software and hardware to do it.
-
to sum it all... i don't like much laptops. So I'm forgetting about recording but I'm writing a lot. But if you're into recording something I could start looking for the way to record here.

That's bad news, but the owner needs to authorize someone to open the place for those customers who must have their computers back.

Yes, he should. They say they'll open "one day/some day", I don't know what's the best translation... that means I don't know when they will open. I think they are far away from here, the situation is complicated.

and on the gossip section, Kate Moss has married a musician How many musician vs model couples there are? Jagger with several, McCartney with HM, Seal with Heidi Klum, James Blunt with Petra Nemcova, Kate Moss with several, Lenny Kravitz with Adriana Lima and others, etc
-
The date that I'll get my pc back has becomed unpredictable. So I'll guess record things in the meantime with this laptop. Not my music but just for fun covers. I know there are not many Queen fans here but I want to do Innuendo (I think is right for these times). If no-one wants to get in the track then I'll guess I'll do it alone, as challenging as it seems. to get back to recording we could something "big", Led Zeppelin or so

As I'm bored I'm learning to sing opera, I mean typically operatic style, Pavarotti, etc just for the sake of it (hey, who knows maybe one day the electricity goes away and there can't be no amplification). Yeah, okey, but there are 2 things I don't like about it. One is my head aches when doing it, and my ears hurt a little, I guess because the loudness of the voice. I guess I'm going back to pop/rock and roll way...

yes, it does, actually a friend of mine is singing on it Sep. 16th, a karaoke buddy (I'm not kidding)
this is his youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/sebachaloco ... how do those guys do it? I don't mean how do they sing, I know, but they may go deaf of hearing themselves. There must be a way to do it, hmmmm... -
Serrat and Sabina (the 2 most popular Spanish singer-songwriters) are doing an album the Global Wings way. Each is in his home, far far from each other, and they sent the stuff they record to one another. And they work on it through Skype.
