How Does Your Garden Grow?
-
I didn't get any flowers this yr. for my birthday...instead I 'm getting some gasoline in August! YEP...I'm getting my gas paid for...(the trip to Pittsburgh) as my present!! Still love that Liverpoolgroom!!
-
Our beans & pumpkins are starting to show lots of vine growth. We're also finally seeing tiny tomatoes form on both tomato plants. Black Eyed Susans are getting lots of buds on them.
-
We have already picked some cuces and tomato, the grapes will be ready before ya know it...if I can talk him into making some of his vino that would be heaven!!!---------

Well, it's the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships time and right on cue strawberries have been appearing - no, not appearing - ripening in my garden. However I don't think these have any chance of meeting with a dusting of sugar and cream, there's nothing more delightful than wandering about the garden chomping on freshly picked fruit My large bushy shrubs are finally in blossom so, when they've done flowering, my secateurs are on standby so I can bring them back down to size and see the far end corner of my garden again. My plum tree is having a dormant year - no fruit has set, but no worries as I still have plum jam in the larder from last years crop. I see apples have set on both my apple trees again this year - the "cooker" apple tree has finally got the message that it has to produce to survive I'm pleased to say all my cheap car-boot bedding plants survived - the slugs and snails seem to have gone on holiday this year. They have all fleshed out to compact flower plants now and the border is looking very colourful. Grass keeps growing though Martin

Right now, with the extreme high temps & the town being on water alert, we're hard pressed to keep our garden from drying out. Our resident deer decided she wanted dessert & stuck her head over the tomato cages & chomped off the tops of all our tomatoes!
-
Oh, no, that's awful GypsyGirl! We have heat but we've been getting rain lately too, so the squash etc. is starting to take off. Yeah, Martin, whatever else doesn't grow in a garden, the grass always does! Beautiful pictures above, thanks! I love garden photos.
-
We have been getting so much rain. My tomatoes are covered with growing tomatoes and lots of blooms. Flowers looking great, too.
-
Was watering the veggie & herb gardens early this morning & spotted a bunny hiding in the pumpkins! I told it how cute it looked & if it didn't want a bath it needed to leave. The bunny looked at me, twitched it's nose & took off! My new daisy plant just doesn't want to perk up - inspite of watering, it still droops.
-
Unkempt.
-
The hydrangeas are in full bloom...deep blue this year...beautiful!
-
Usually sun and water.

Its been cool for L.A. so everything is fresh and growing well. I have tomatoes, figs, citrus, herbs, kale and one last purple cabbage from the winter left. My roses are gorgeous right now, too.
-
My raspberry bushes right by my apartment door went up to 2 metres high by last week! I had to cut them down by a whole metre. They really DO grow easily!
-
It just started raining like mad! Unfortunately, our resident wildlife ate our tomatoes, chomped the tops off the sunflowers & left one measly green bean. On the plus side, they don't seem to like our herbs.

Thank you Claudia and love2travel! Here's another pic I just took after some pruning and cleaning and reorganizing earlier....

Thanks for sharin your lovely photos! Rain again today but I'm happy - things will thrive once more. Even one lone male duck showed up this morning & was waiting for me to put out some feed.

nice colors!! i been weeding and pruning.. So much leaves not much blooms.. We had a really cold wet summer.. its either too cold or hot. Usual weather would be in the 70's to 80s we been over 100 going from lows of 48. So the poor plants don't know which way to head up or down. but my Mccartney rose is blooming and it smells great.
-
We've finally had badly neededrain at last & things are starting to perk up again. Our pink stargzer lilies are all blooming. The wildlife that visits has sampled my oregano plant.

my cat keeps the critters away from my plant.. If I could only get her to eat the slugs. I saved a baby bunny life the other day. My cat was carrying it in her mouth like a kitten, by the scruff. My daughter goes oh don't go over there its dead. I thought I got to check.. My cat was just laying next to it and the little bunny was frozen. So I scooped up the cat who didn't seem to mind and took her inside the bunny was long gone when I went back to check.. So cute I put a bell on the terminator after that. then a few day later she was chasing the mommy bunny. Honestly I glad she take care of the mouses and shrews or they over run the house but the bunnies. and the chipmunks hurts too..

I'm not planting anything else til it cools off a little moore. The birds have left all the wild raspberries by our creek alone, so far
