I doubt that you are speaking to yourself -- I am generally a lurker of sorts, and have read and appreciated your faithful posts for years. (I think I even met you years ago at Brian's record release, maybe? I was there with some friends...) Not sure why I am posting lately(?), I suspect that thinking about Rusty's music is substantially better than focusing on life in it's current state... looking for escape I guess, and most especially looking forward to the new album. I missed the show too, though. (I somehow had the wrong date in my head). Any other news? Quotes?

Thanks disneykristi! Unfortunately it wasn't me whom you met at Brian's Record Release party, since I've never been to the US yet...maybe when I win the lottery... You are right about what you said. I also come here to escape from the reality and triviality of everyday life... The new album is called Born on Earth and from the songs I heard on the show I can tell that it is simply amazing.

He did play a lot of the new music at the Hotel Cafe and it is amazing. I especially enjoyed the harmonies and the acoustic guitars. Some of the songs I can remember from that show: Timed Exposure Born on Earth (Title song) Baggage Claim Private Moon Flower (my favorite ) Under a White Star

I think I have heard all of these. My fave is the song called Julia Roberts...though I'd prefer a title called Robert Redford....

Press Release from the City of Fullerton: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRESS RELEASE #09909 Subject : McCartney guitarist to perform at July 29 concert Contact : Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department (714) 738-6575 Sylvia Palmer Mudrick, Public Information Coordinator, Fullerton City Manager?s Office (714) 738-6317 Rusty Anderson, lead guitarist in Paul McCartney?s band, will perform Wednesday, July 29, at the Fullerton Sports Complex as part of the Fullerton Parks and Recreation Department?s popular outdoor summer concert series. All concerts in the series will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. While food will be available for purchase at the complex, concert-goers are welcome to bring a picnic supper to enjoy, as well as lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Anderson, who also sings and writes songs, describes his music as ?eclectic,? not electronic: ?electronic music is brilliant, but at the same time I feel detached from it because it?s not played by humans. I like the sound of human beings hitting things. Strings touched by fingers, rooms of people interacting.? In addition to McCartney, Anderson has shared the stage with such artists as Elton John, Willie Nelson, Cat Stevens and Gwen Stefani. His debut album, ?Undressing Underwater,? features 10 songs rooted in hard rock guitars and quirky 1960s pop. Other concerts scheduled for the series include James Intveld Aug. 5; ?The Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band? Aug. 12; and ?Los Fabulocos? Aug. 19. The 18-acre Fullerton Sports Complex is located at 560 E. Silver Pine St., which is off Bastanchury Road, west of Brea Boulevard, in the Brea Dam flood control basin. Parking for the disabled will be available at the site. Further information about the concerts may be obtained by calling the Parks and Recreation Department?s Information Hotline at (714) 738-3333, or the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545. Persons requiring special accommodations to attend the concerts are asked to notify the department staff prior to coming to the sports complex. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be in Alaska on the 29th. That's really frustrating, but I cant change the Alaska trip at this point, too much money committed, and I promised to go. Bummed now.

Hey Kimsey: I am in Halifax and went to the concert last night. I just wanted to let you know that Rusty's hair looked fabulous last night -- but then when doesn't Rusty look fabulous, anyway. Just thought I'd mention it I wrote a trip report -- it's on the Halifax thread, page 39 if you are interested. Wish you could have been there too... Kristi

Hi Kristi, Thank you for your kind post!!!!!!!;) He almost always looks fabulous! But I didn't like his too long hair during the April shows... ops: You're so lucky to have made it to Halifax. I'll check out your report! It's been more than a year since I last saw him with Paul....at Anfield stadium in Liverpool. Btw I'm Kristi too, but I prefer my nick. Kimsey

Kristi, your review is amazing!!!!!! You have a great style with a rich vocabulary! I used to be a librarian in a tiny village library for a year while teaching English there (at home)...it was fun.....though I had almost nothing to do there... Here's a pic from last night's show...from a link posted in the Halifax thread:
