Here is the newest headless video.
Different vocals (and guitar, too) than the mp3 I posted a while ago. I think I like this recording better than the last one, despite the many pops and noises in the record. I feel the vocals are better!Wow, beautiful!!
Stealing this post to say, it's great Eve. It seems you have quite a fan club on YOUTUBE!

I like to think we can post anything on this thread here...so I'll agree with Audi, don't take it away.
it remains still then... Well, after doing that I searched for similar things... and some are very peculiar... Manowar-Nessun Dorma (live... in Italy... they had the balls of doing in it Italy...), got to love this one...
Aretha Franklin-Nessun Dorma (live on the Grammies), Pavarotti had a sore throat and had to perform that night the song... 22 minutes before he called Aretha Franklin and ask her to do it instead of him... in Pavarotti's key as was prepared... and she did... doing things for "her voice", of course.. this is Ian Gilliam from Deep Purple doing it with PavarottiOliver, you made a very brave attempt at this. It's good to consider ALL styles of music, and of course this piece is one of the worlds most famous operatic pieces. BRAVO for even trying!!
the thing is I like Puccini, his arias, lots of them... I think he is really the first great songwriter. The best things he did were "arias", songs...

Old time rock and roll! The best music to relax, I think. When I want to relax, I don't listen to ballads, but I sing along to Long Tall Sally, I'm Down, Led Zep's "Rock and roll"... the neighbours won't relax, I guess...

We have a wide selection of stuff here for sure!!
well, it's basically "Karaoke", but as is so peculiar I though I could post it I've tried to compressed but "it doesn't make sense", I mean don't like it. Like if singing arias with rock and roll feeling "made sense"... the thing I like most in classical music is the volume changes... with compression in rock and roll music hardly anyone "plays with that"... for instance the beginning of this one is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard...

Ther is hardly any compression applied to classical pies, as it is the dynamic range that gives it it's beauty. Rock is a totally different animal, and it was the Beatles and George Martin that first gave us VERY heavy compression. It was in vogue to compress heavily until around 1968/69, then it became the vogue NOT to apply to much compression. We're back to square one now with the new digital (analog simulated) compression. Maybe that's why Beatle music sounds so up to date.

ok
so this is a cover, with that arrangement or so (1 minute and a half)... later I've seen the song is much older and has all kind of versions, like this funny one this is the naked version, cause I think this is quite noisy and needs more instruments, keyboard drums and some guitar... While playing piano, I didn't noticed, but I played kind of a snippet of Oh Darling you may recognize over and over. Vocals are compressed and with reverb (I found a compression settings I like, not heavy but with some). I did a mini-take for the ending, as in take 1 I was kind of lost in that part and I didn't know when did I have to sing. That mini-take is not compressed. Of course the key is a different one... -

well, the thing is the Beatles didn't do "rock" or should I say changed what rock is... rock and roll absorbed virtually every style to make a whole new thing

Here is one of the saddest songs you'll ever hear. I love the message in this song, but decided to cover it because I wanted to lay out a full orchestra. The track composes piano, contrabass, cello, viola, violins, trumpets, horns a harp and timpani. I used the best quality samples, and attempted to get as authentic a feel as possible. The vocals are kept "sharp", to get CHRIS REA'S gravelly vocal sound, but I may cut the EQ on the final mix. Oliver - here, compression is kept to a minimum, and is given what is called "soft-knee" compression, to keep dynamic range. Here is.. CHRIS REA'S TELL ME THERE'S A HEAVEN LISTEN http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/song_2872633 DOWNLOAD http://www.snapdrive.net/files/492294/Tell%20Me%20There%27s%20A%20Heaven-01.mp3

yes, soft knee is when the compression (no matter if heavy or small...) happens gradually insteadly of suddenly (i guess... :lol I really like this song, I didn't knew it before. wow, you work out a little orchestra... talking bout "wide selection", my fav song to sing is New York, New York (Sinatra style ), maybe one day I'll try to record it with all the background. I think trumpets are very complicated for keyboards... maybe those who have a spinning wheel can do it well, I don't know...

[RAGS TO RICHES[/size">](www.oliversanz.com/ragstoriches.mp3]<span style=) And this is the final version. I put the Elvis version on and started jamming/improvising with the guitar. I set the amp to "American Blues" (virtually any Elvis song is like that guitar style, from the the 50s to the 70s, I guess...). For some reason I didn't like it and set it to "modern distortion" or so.. Playing guitar all the time didn't make sense, so in the end I just stick to do "answers" kind of like a duet. I tried adding bass or drums but I didn't like it for this song. So it remains like this.
